  1. It's simply too different from XP. I miss half dozen things I was used to. Makes work very uncomfortable.
  2. So I installed somewhat "vLited" Vista (sadly only 32bit) on my work PC... OUCH!! I was right back then. This is not even remotely close to getting used to in this decade. It's working this time, though. lol
  3. One more thing - 64 and 32bit versions are sold separately? I though you start the installation and you can choose. This makes no sense...
  4. Looks like I'll need DOSBox a lot more
  5. So "normal applications" will run pretty much the same as on XP, at least performance-wise? There's no degrading of speed or functionality caused by different environment? How about real old stuff? Like very old games for example?
  6. Hm.. That's hard to tell! From the regular stuff - antivirus (NOD32), some kind of firewall (still using that ooold Kerio PF 2.1.5 and loving it), media player (Winamp and BSP), Office, browser (Opera)... I sometimes rip DVDs and encode them into something else, sometimes I play a bit of games, but not much. When I do, it's mostly some older goodies. Dungeon Master atm LOL Seriously I cannot think of anything "special". If you say "regular" applications should work just as well, I assume there wouldn't be that much of a problem.
  7. lol I just ordered another one yesterday. Only got one other in the company, but I cannot say single bad thing about it. Can't compare with other brands efficiency and performance-wise, but I still think it's very decent printer, at least given the price.
  8. Well, I was thinking about giving this thing another shot after those infamous 10 minutes last year. Are there any noticeable differences between 64 and 32 bit versions? Performance-wise, mostly. On 64bit I assume most of my programs wouldn't work.
  9. Just a question. Has anyone noticed ANY increase in performance after switching to AHCI mode? Cause I tried some months ago and all I got were some annoying bios screens (of course, after enabling all the stuff) and waiting times before Windoze started booting
  10. ROFLMAO!!!! Is that for real? Anyway: we use the same thing in the company I work in. I recently ordered new PC for a guy and integrated SP3. It works without any problems. I don't even have half the default services running, mind you... This is really weird. All I know SP3 changes is to set few services back on, namely firewall/file sharing (or wth the name is), security center and um... something.
  11. Out of curiosity, what's "xp gold (rtm)"?
  12. Oh!! I was wondering about this one for a few weeks! Slightly annoying to manually make it visible after every install
  13. I was just about to ask if SP3 causes nLite any trouble ... guess I was right Let's wait for some fixes Question though - wouldn't be better to use version 1.4.1 instead? Probably bad thought.
  14. I believe some time in the past I was at around 80MB on one machine and think that's pretty good. No idea when and how I did it anymore though
  15. What the.... 40MB I can't get under 120 (but I wanna keep some functionality, too)
  16. I tested it in MS VirtualPC yesterday and couldn't reproduce it. So much for finding out what's wrong ****. Fortunately those are desktop PCs at work and there's no need to play with firewall there at all Still an interesting problem though.
  17. I know exactly what I am doing, only that the "disable firewall" checkbox probably does a bit more than disabling it.
  18. Jeez. The service IS running. But the firewall settings are greyed out!
  19. nobody knows? I dont want to reinstall several PCs cause of this...
  20. Could we get the possibility to set the state of more services in future? I have to manually tweak some of them after installation. And no, I really mean Windows services, not those that kick in after install drivers and other stuff.
  21. Not sure what you mean but I also am getting the message to choose which Windows to boot... Which makes no sense, obviously.
  22. I assum the old bug with percentages for System recovery isn't fixed yet?
  23. I believe I didn't as it's half firewall half connction sharing which nlite mentiones as important. I disabled it under the Unattended section. Now when I run it from control panel it's all greyed out.
