When visiting that addy to test shockwave, do you see a 'd' icon? press it. Same for testing flash player, you need to press the 'f' icon. This would definately be caused by your nLite removals, i have no idea which is causing it though. This was intentional. The shockwave installer was UPDATED August 15, 2006. - While using CrapCleaner i noticed missing registry entries causing it to want to delete several of the shockwave entries. shark

I dont think language is an issue. I havent seen any Java sofware in quite some time. Yes, there are Java applets run within webpages but the browser plugins are language neutral and as long as Java is installed the applets will work fine. If you really need to know, my language is 1033 (us english). shark

I'm pretty good at MSI editting but as you already stated, editting the msi with these changes gets you nowhere. upon 1st use, the scheduler gets installed into the autorun. i cant stop it, its written into the executable, not the msi. shark

Here is a switch-less Installer of Sun Java Runtime Environment(6). This will also install the plugins for Internet Explorer and Mozilla browsers. Automatic updating is turned off by default. This software also had an issue where upon 1st use it would add its update scheduler to the autorun registry key. This feature is disabled in this release. This installer IS svcpack compatible. Updated April 01, 2007 (JRE6) Update 1 file information: 9.05 MB - MD5 = 7414d3876be92301a41090a6ff3bb82f I updated this release 24hrs after the initial posting. Check the MD5 to be sure. The provided shockwave installer from Adobe doesnt have an option to avoid the yahoo toolbar unattendedly. Follow the link to my Repository in my signature and at the bottom of the page is an already prepared switchless installer for shockwave. Also found there is a switchless installer for the firefox plugin should you require it. shark

Most likely your problem exists in the registry. Under hklm\software and hkcu\software delete the key 'Apple' or 'Apple Computer, Inc' reboot, and try again. shark
