You're Welcome. I've come to the conclusion that so mant people have different views as to what would make a 'perfect' winamp(audio only) installation that i am considering producing several(2or3) releases for the 5.25 final. Keep the suggestions coming and most likely when it goes final, you'll each have a flavor customized just for you.shark

Adobe "Shockwave_Installer_Full.exe" v10.1.3.18 acting up
Shark007 replied to Keeperos's topic in Application Add-Ons
The provided shockwave installer from Adobe doesnt have an option to avoid the yahoo toolbar unattendedly. Follow the link to my Repository in my signature and at the bottom of the page is an already prepared switchless installer for shockwave. Also found there is a switchless installer for the firefox plugin should you require it. shark -

Unicode support for the ML is planned for the next major release. Note the new "Playback" section in the Preferences. This will be filled out more in due course. "Allow 24bit" is unchecked by default (for sound cards/chips which don't support it). With it unchecked, playback will still be 16bit, as in all previous versions. With it checked, playback will be 24bit instead of 16, or 32/64bit depending on the file being played (eg. 32bit float-point WAVs will be played at 32bit). "Allow surround sound" is checked by default, and is now required for files encoded with multiple channels (5.1). you can expect this release soon, and it will be on a private server. shark

how do i know if a program is svcpack compatible?
Shark007 replied to ideas's topic in Application Installs
lol, nuff said. shark -
Most likely your problem exists in the registry. Under hklm\software and hkcu\software delete the key 'Apple' or 'Apple Computer, Inc' reboot, and try again. shark
-
This is most likely what the problem was. Windows install was finding the original file and using it instead of your file.shark

Unattended Codec Rollout in an AD Network
Shark007 replied to Hersch's topic in Application Installs
I can only assume you've tried my MSI release of the Advanced Filter and Codec Pack. The company that employs you seems big enough to need one more employee in its IT department and i am unemployed at this time. Why dont you PM me some details while you test my MSI on a few pc's. It was just updated 2 days ago and is found the top of my repository listing ...shark -
Symantec AntiVirus Corporate 10.0.1.1000
Shark007 replied to Shark007's topic in Application Installs
ok, i'll try. resource hog is probabably not the correct term.. I do an extreme amount of file move / copy / delete operations, and this type of activity seemed slow. once i killed the symantec real time proccesses , this again went smoothly. since i switched to NOD32, i dont expererience these slowdowns which to me, were very annoying. I wont go back to symantec simply because i am quite pleased with NOD32's performance and ability, which, in my opinion, matches symantecs.shark -
how do i know if a program is svcpack compatible?
Shark007 replied to ideas's topic in Application Installs
Exactly what is better about using cmdlines.txt? what are these 'better results'?cmdlines.txt executes @ T-13 and .0005 nano seconds later, svcpack executes. There is absolutely no difference whatsoever, just a different method, but both are equally effective and the results, identical. To the innitial poster .. There is no way to know whether or not a program installation is svcpack compatable until you actual perform test installations and scrutinize the resulting installation to determine if it went as expected. If i state an installation is svcpack compatable you can be assured i tested that installation from svcpack and checked to the best of my ability that the installation went as expected, right down to also uninstalling the installation. shark -
Wallpaper during first boot
Shark007 replied to sandervermaak's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I think you're asking for a wallpaper upon 1st boot, which is when runounceex executes. T-12 is when svcpack executes. I dont have a solution either way, was just helping you define your situation. If you click EDIT in the lower right, you can change your TOPIC for this post to read from t-12 to '1st boot'. Changing the topic to read '1st boot' may help get the response you seekshark -

Symantec AntiVirus Corporate 10.0.1.1000
Shark007 replied to Shark007's topic in Application Installs
1st of all, my instruction applied to a Corporate version, you are using CE. 2nd, the /passive switch requires windows installer 3.0 or greater. If the passive switch isnt accepted by whatever version of windows you are using, try /qb as a replacement. 3rd, I stopped using Symantec because, in my experience, it was a resource hog i could do without. I've personally switched to NOD32 for my antivirus needs. shark -
