well you guys haven't pointed out one main problem that XP has...Memory I see you have a lower end PC. Me wasn't as much of a RAM hog as XP is. Programs will shut down if there isn't enough ram in your pc. You should have at LEAST 256 but I recommend everyone to have 512. If you have enough memory then you would move on to the other stuff as above, such as did you do a upgrade. From what I can assume you did a upgrade which is a no no. I know microsoft makes it easy for people to d a upgrade but its bad. It leaves parts of ME on the disk and that can cause allot of problems. When you right click on the icon "My computer" and choose explore, if you only see one drive icon ( ex. C: and then your cd-rom drives) then you only have one drive and its not partitioned (split in half). Just simple put in your XP disk and choose a new install ( not upgrade) following the instructions, make sure you choose format and I suggest you use NTFS file system. You will get 2 choices, fat and NTFS. I assume you bought the upgrade version of XP so you might get a prompt to insert your ME disk, this is verification that you had a previous version of windows. Just drop that ME disk in click ok and then cont. Good luck. One thing if you do a new install make sure you back up everything and save any personal information as everything will be erased.
