  1. My vote: Commercial = Dreamweaver Free = Notepad
  2. Following the Microsoft article should solve your problem.
  3. Still working from CD (no DVD writer - yet). Method 2.
  4. Wow, very nice! A quote from their website:
  5. One of my favorites: CTRL+SHIFT+Escape = Opens the Task Manager
  6. Hi Welcome to the forum. I have not tried it myself, but a quick search produced the link below. The last post in this topic seems like an easy sollution. Please let us know if it works for you.
  7. According to the MS Knowledge Base there are a hotfix available, but you need to phone them to get it. See this article.
  8. Voted for 95. No ICS, lots of BSOD's, etc. Would love to vote for than than one entry. ME would next on my list.
  9. Well, the short answer is YES you can use WIHU to install the hotfixes silently. See the hotfixes thread for a list of fixes and the switches to use. I must however tell you that I used to use the same process, and you will eventually run out of space on your CD (except if you are using as DVD). My personal opinion is that it is better to integrate as much as possible and safe valuable space in the process. Work out a process that will take a minimum of your time to rebuild the UA CD. It should take you only a few minutes to rebuild your CD. By the way, visit RyanVM for an excellent .Net silent install with all updates included.
  10. I do not want to register on yet another forum. Hope you will excuse my posting here. I have just downloaded WAIT and I am very impressed. Especially with the waitcfg.exe config-editor. Thank you for this nice app! One problem that is not really a big issue: If the ini file contains no ITEMS, WAIT.exe and WAITCFG.exe crash on my system. No big deal since everyone will have at least one ITEMS.
  11. Same here: If it is secure, I'm in!
  12. By the way: Maybe you should also read the Rules/Etiquette. A title like should attract more experts
  13. Have a look at the Unattended Guide. If you still can't find the problem you should include your winnt.sif file. That will enable the experts (that is not me!) to help you.
  14. Sounds very nice! Thank you for sharing it with us.
  15. I use WIHU (see elsewhere in the MSFN forums) started from winnt.sif. Great program for adding user accounts. You can even specify lcoations for personal folders (like my documents). Also ideal to install additional applications.
  16. Good idea. I will also wait for more drivers & software before upgrading.
  17. [GUIRunOnce] command1= "%SystemDrive%\install\Runeonce.cmd"
  18. I use the following process: 1. batch file to recreate working directory with a 'fresh' copy of xp and to start Nlite 2. Use Nlite to remove some components and to integrate the RyanVM update pack 3. batch file to copy BTS-driverpacks and my own directories to cd root 4. the second batch file also add entry to winnt.sif to start wihu in the GUIRunOnce section 5. Use Nlite to create ISO
  19. I know I should always Search first, but my vote is at the "Mixture". (Hope there is not a poll like this!)
