  1. MaximumPC is even talking about it.
  2. i was having problems with Vista x64 to. my external hdd worked fine as it was connected through the setup and never unhooked it but after i did vista wouldn't see it right and install it. i had both my flash drive and ipod show up in drive management as a raw drive but could do anything to them. right now i just have Vista x86 installed and didnt come across any problems. im going to wait till the 14th when i get payed to get a nic card that has 64bit drivers.
  3. try putting USBAUDIO.sys back into your %windir%\system32\drivers folder. im not saying it will work but just a suggestion that might work.
  4. i almost have my copy of sp4 cd completely up to date. if you like i can post all the hotfixes and cab files i used if it will help you out. Edit. i got the sp4 cd up to date. the only updates that are there are the optional .net 1.1 and 2.0. of course once those are installed there will be updates for them. Edit 2. here are the hotfixes and cabs i added. i 7z the files into 3 archives here are the links Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
  5. i think its just best to make the adminpack.msi an optional download. it will also save 14 megs off of USP 5.2. i wouldn't mind testing it either. im actually trying to bring a standard sp4 up to date for my work. im trying to do it with out USP 5.1 because i think it was causing some problems with the other hotfixes i was integrating.
  6. its got EM64T so you can install a 64bit os. i know that in vmware I got xp pro 64bit to install while running xp pro.
  7. looks interesting. any plans to add support for running from cd or can it accept locations like \Drivers where the CD drive is X:, DriverForge is in the root and there is a folder called Drivers so that instead of lets say D:\Drivers you could just use \Drivers since not all computers CD/DVD drive that is D:.
  8. This is where the profile is located. the profile is everything that was firefox. im pretty sure you can just copy that folder into the same location on the current install but that is no guarantee that it will use that profile X:\Documents and Settings\{User Name}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{random letters/#}.default
  9. im still learning about overclocking but looking at that black edition it seems alot easier to overclock then anything else. i still have at least a month till ill have the money to upgrade and/or change my mind.
  10. i decided im just not going to worry about it. i just decided that im going to wait till i get a new system. just need to save for it. so far i have picked ASUS M2N-SLI nForce 570 Althlon X2 5000+ Black Edition Mushkin 2x1GB from what i read at Toms Hardware the Black Edition was able to go up to 3.10GHz at stock volts from the standard 2.6GHz.
  11. like mavericks said. all you have to do is use autoit to compile the au3 file into and exe and then just run that to execute the script.
  12. ill have to wait or look somewhere else for it site says ClockGen will be back soon.
  13. dropped the multiplier down to 9 and now cpu-z show 1809MHz im going to try messing with the bus speed again. edit bus speed refuses to change. in my bios right now its a bus speed of 220 x 9= 1980 MHz, cpu-z shows 201.5 x 9=1813 MHz.
  14. VistaPE is just a live version of vista u can bood from a cd so deal with any problems incase of a system failure. as for a boot time scan i am not aware of a why to do a boot time scan.
  15. pagefile.sys is a windows file that is always active so nod32 wont be able to access it if windows is running. as far as i know there is no real need to scan it but if you fell you must then you would either have to install another copy of windows and scan it from there or make a winpe and scan from that. here is a really great site to make a VistaPE from either the WAIK or vista source. you can select more if your using vista as a source but the WAIK works fine on its own. it has an option to include nod32 as an antivirus scanner. comes in real handy if anything ever happens to your system.
  16. i have the newest opetron driver and cool and quiet is disabled. everytime i try to OC it the bios will show everything i set but cpuz shows no change in bus speed. maybe ill try and lower the multiplier down to 9 and see if windows shows it underclocked. i know that cpuz picks up the fact that i lowered HT.
  17. i know its a 2GHz processer but even when i set the bus speed in the bios ie 220MHz x 10 multiplier in bios and bios says 2200MHz but windows and cpu-z still show 201 x 10 or 2010MHz
  18. as of now there isnt a way through vlite. there is a way using the WAIK but i have no idea how to do it.
  19. rest the bios. bios shows its at 2000MHz. 10x Multiplier bus speed 200MHz and HT at x5. when i booted back into windows it is still showing that its a 10x Multiplier with a bus speed of 201MHz=2015Hz or 2.01GHz. i cant seem to figure out why the settings are showing up in windows or anything else besides the bios. i think i saw a new bios update. ill grab that update and see if anything happens after i update. edit just got done flashing the bios. even told it to load the defaults when flashing and it still have the same settings.
  20. ive checked it with cpuz, everest, and dsl. all show it at 2015MHz but my bios is showing it at 2.2GHz. Edit CPU-Z does show that i lowered the HT down to 800Hz
  21. I have and ASUS A8N-E mobo and a Opteron. the problem is windows reports im running at 2.02GHz(10x202). But my bios reports that it is 2.2GHz. I set the HT down to 4, ram down to 333MHZ, multiplier at 10, and clock at 220MHz. 2.2GHz=220x10. i know before when i was messing around with overclocking that it worked find but decided not to overclock. now i cant get windows to notice it. i have verified that when i shutdown the comp and cold start it that the bios has the same settings.
  22. here is my score as of now pretty sure its the same Opty 170 i bought from ripken204. running a 7600gt at 1280x1024 on XP Pro x64. im having troble overclocking it thought and making a post about it.
  23. i dont think he is trying to get past it or anything. just whats to know what would happen. my guess is since u need oobe to validate you copy of windows you would be unable to validate it. so when the 30 days comes you would be locked out and with out being able to use oobe there is no way to validate it after you get locked out of windows so there is no point in removing it as nothing good comes from it.
  24. first you doubled posted. second vague topic heading. third not enough info. what type of graphics card do you have. it may be that your graphics card just doesn't support anything but 16bit.
  25. my guess is it either uncompressed or a dv file. when i was ripping laserdiscs to video files for my school id end up with about a 6 gig file for 22 mins. but then i would compress the video down to around 350. i would suggust something like automkv or megui. go with xvid or x264.
