  1. Well, @MagicAndre it's a way but not a solution. I've got the same problem. I know it's a free application, but I know too that Nuhi is a good professional, and the solution is correct the program availabe for download. I downgrade the version, from 1.2 to 1.1 and I'm waiting for the correction on the last version, 1.2
  2. A service pack contains all updates till the release date of the pack. I'm running it too, it's simply perfect!
  3. If you slipstream on a machine with a different copy (key) and the copy you are doing isn't legit, the key from installed copy is assumed. It happens since SP2.
  4. I agree with elajua@ and say more: DVD Decrypter, in my opinion, it's the best! Of course, I'm talking about RIP, not en(re)code or something like that. You can choose chapters, subs, etc. With VirtualDub you can extract the audio from a VOB and later code it as you prefer. Just click on Audio > Compression, and all codecs available will be shown.
  5. Larson, I'm sorry, but doesn't make sense to me a Service Pack without every previous hotfixes, it's like a Service Pack without "soul". I'm talking about "fixes". I haven't a HDA, but an old SoundBlaster Live!. The drivers are included on service pack, but I can't use the full resources, I need to install the drivers from the original CD. I think it happens with video cards, all the video cards recognized work, but for specific purposes you have to install the latest drivers or use the installation CD. I don't know if it´s happen with you. Excuse my English, all my life I work reading manuals in English, I can read almost perfect, but because I have nobody to talk in English, it's hard to talk and write.
  6. Integrate hotfixes?! You don´t need it! SP3 is cumulative. I got a clean copy of XP SP2 and integrate with SP3, the only thing updated by Automatic Windows Update was Malicious Software Removal Tool. It's running perfect!
  7. I think to use search all files must have the same extension, if not, even knowing all, you'll need to search one by one and copy them. I forgot to mention: of course, the iso file, presumed a big file, you can move it, manually, where all files will be placed, before use WinRar. Ponch is right, be sure there's no duplicate files, you can have, for example, with different versions and/or sizes.
  8. Yeap! If you have WinRAR installed, create a RAR or ZIP file from the directory that contains the files. After created extract it, but when the extract window opens, to choose where the files must be placed, click on Advanced and select "do not extract patches". I suggest you to preserve the source files till the files be extracted and you're sure everything's alright.
  9. There´s a important thing to remember: harmonics. When you buy a amplifier, the Total Harmonic Distortion is one important parameter to measure the quality. There are other things, like clipping, peak average, etc., to consider. I suggest you a small program called MP3gain to normalize your mp3 files, without decompress them, and use a Digital Signal Processor to hear. DFX is a good example, it works on harmonics, even the frequencies cutted out during compressing, they are restored from harmonics that are present in almost full sound spectrum of a track. Important that the goal of all compressed formats is save space, of course there is cost/benefit. I believe that 192kbp/s is nice, you get all you need and living in a world like ours, most of us have audible range very limited, never more 20-20.000Hz.
  10. After put the missed file, I got no problems. Even Net 3.5 installed without problems and Visual Web Development 2K8 Express. The Security Center is removed and all the things I always did on previous versions. I extracted the pack using 7zip and slipstream it manually. After this, integrated MP11 and NLited, integrating IE7. As it's a Service Pack the source was a clean XP SP2, without any updates.
  11. Guys, like Vista SP1, this Service Pack has some "tools" against piracy. There are a file, wscenter.mo_, that isn't updated by the Slipstream if you're using a known bad key. Try to see if it's present on i386 folder after the update. I discovered this because I use IIS and when I tried to install it, the file was missing.
  12. Vista NTFS with a reduced reserved area:
  13. I have both installed, but I don't use dual boot because always there's some "interference" between them, mainly with AV programs. I use Partition Magic, but there's a drawback too, you need a partition with FAT32. I created one with 1Gb and installed Win98, only to support the multiple Boot. I have a primary HD where they are installed and a secondary HD shared to both systems. Works perfectly and you can see (measure) the performance from both OS, since I have the same programs installed on them. Even this way, Vista makes changes on XP partition, changing NTFS structure. Images below Traditional NTFS (windows 2000) with a large (green/white) reserved area: BTW, sorry by my English, I tried my best.
  14. English isn't my native idiom. I was reading this post from beginning. I'm proud of it, because I discovered several kinds of personality, and I suppose that average of age must be 21/25. I'm an old (retired) man, 58 years old. I work with computers since 1973, mainframes (runnin DOS on IBM mainframes). With mainframes you have to work near the edge, because they are (or were) very expensive. You must save every bit of space, the jobs (programs) must run fast and allocating minimium resources. Actually I'm runnin XP and Vista on dual boot (Partition Magic) and feelin the same way was with 2K and XP, but I have a simple question, that I believe will be the answer for all this: syriad what do you intend to do with your machine? or what It built for? Before you do something, you need a reason to do it.
  15. English isn't my native idiom. This isn't a Video Card problem, but RAM problem. Most mobo has the memory slots nearest the video card slot (doesn't matter if PCIE or AGP), when you make changes on your video card there's a strong possibility to touch the memory modules, without notice. Remove modules from slots and put them again. I got this problem with a bad memory module and the message was like this, exactly. Blue Screen from video crashes display the video card drive source of problem or anything related.
  16. I am not English native. It happens a long time, I believe is a business choice. Hollywood is the best example. Cameras, lenses, films, all hardware is imported. Why? Ideas make more money. MS is M$ because sells ideas.
  17. 3.6, thanks to ATI9600 256Mb (3.7 Graphics / 3.6 Gaming); P4 2.8Ghz (3.9); 1Gb RAM DDR 333Mhz (4.1); HD Samsung (5.3). It fits what I need.
  18. OK, I'm a "old" newby. I never heard use different subnets on a single NIC, maybe I'm saying something stupid but doesn't work. When you have more than a NIC to access different domains/workgroups it's OK. Try to use a single subnet and your problems go away, doesn't matter the physical locations, DNS exists for this.
  19. You're welcome! Excuse me, but I have two questions: 1. How many network cards are installed on your server? 2. There is a mandatory need for all these subnets? Hugs...
  20. You can use these simple commands to configure time sync, without make changes on register. On server and clients: Server: w32tm /config /syncfromflags:manual /manualpeerlist:time-a.nist.gov [or another time server] w32tm /config /update Client: w32tm /config /syncfromflags:manual /manualpeerlist:server name or IP address w32tm /config /update

    ctrl+alt+del

English isn't may native idiom, I'll try my best. First, I believe ctrl+alt+del is the nicest (a genius idea) thing in the computer history. You have to use both hands to do it, You are ABSOLUTELY SURE what you'll (think on a bc x86) do; Second, today you can use it to monitoring activites on your machine or use it an exception. If is an exception must be treated like one: why happened? I can't see anything else beyond this, it's a last alternative, must rest in peace.

Well, I just right click the task bar and choose task manager, on 2000, XP and Vista.
  23. Sorry, English Isn't my native idiom and I understood something wrong. I told about IIS because I work with it and was my first idea, I didn't read carefull, I apologize. If you won't install it OK, but soon or later you'll need it, be sure.
  24. On the R2 version there's a option to install Net 2.0, but even you install them, you have to change for 2.0 on IIS console. The default is 1.1 .You also must authorize "network service" to write on wwwroot.
