  1. I don't see this as warez. Warez (pronounced like "wares") is a derivative for the plural form of the word "software" meaning copyrighted material traded in violation of its copyright license. The term generally refers to releases by organized groups, as opposed to peer-to-peer file sharing between friends or large groups of people with similar interest using a Darknet. It normally does not refer to commercial for-profit piracy. Unless he is distributing a copy of 2003 heavily modified and/or without activation key.
  2. Ok... this looks like its going to take awhile. Why are there three different bitmaps in three different executables? I want to do a full screen non-animated logo. 640x480 bitmap as it is displayed. Just like the XPize bootscreen. No fancy animations or loading bar. Like this (XPize bootscreen): edit: site didn't allow hotlinking. Uploaded example instead.
  3. Fine. Post some small images of what you want in the collage and I will organize it like I feel it will look best. To give you an idea to start with. Then all you have to do is do the same with the large version on your computer.
  4. Quick Questions: Can you integrate things like .NET Frameworks into the installation CD source after it has been nLited? Does it work with Server 2003? And can it do Service Packs integration as well? Any issues with Server?
  5. Cool. Let us know when you release the Alpha. I'm brimming with ideas already. I'll contribute whatever I can to the project. As well, I am working on a customized version of my own. I'm modding Server 2003 SP2 quite a bit. I'm not satisfied with the appearance, and performance of it so I'm messing around with it. Mostly stripping down all the excess to modify into an XP compatible workstation but with he speed and nimbleness of server or better. To make it better for my needs.
  6. Dude. I never said I was not willing to help. If he needs help making the canvas I will gladly assist. Give him tips, advice, and showing him step-by-step how to do whatever he needs to. However, help does not include doing an entire project for him from beginning to end. I will help him in any way, except do the entire thing from beginning to end for him. That's not help. That's charity.
  7. No. content EDITTED by Shark007 This forum is all about people helping people. If you don't wish to help DO NOT RESPOND. Continued NEGATIVE responses like I editted here will lead to you being banned. Heed the warning, there won't be another.
  8. Cool. I'm interested. I'll help do testing. And by a new shell... are you completely replacing explorer? Or just modding it? Also, should this ever become a great project that will be around for awhile, I'd reccomend that you also do 2003 64-bit version at the same time. For future proofing.
  9. Cool. Thanks. That worked. Now in regards to my second question, how to modify the source files for bootscreen?
  10. I downloaded a custom WINNTBBU.DL_ how do I change the bitmap inside? Its got a nice look to it but it seems unfinished and I would like to modify it. (It's the dll that contains the background when installing windows) Can I extract the bitmap and then repack it when I finished modding? How do I go about that? And what are restrictions for the bitmap? Like resolution and color? edit: I'd also like to modify the bootscreen. Is there any way to modify the files on the CD before installing and doing it then? And what are the restrictions for such a bitmap?

    [Release] XPize 4.6

    How is 4.6.1 coming along?
  12. Thank you very much for your help. I will try TweakNT or Windows X's application on a new install of Server 2003 Standard Edition. Supposedly there are issues with Corporate/Enterprise when modifying the OS identifier. Thanks for your help though. Appreciate it.
  13. Woot! Now you got my hopes up. Someone PM me a link. edit: NVM. Apparantelly modifyng os identifier on Corporate Server messes with the "licence" and thus it locks you out of the system. Guess I'm just gonna have to use Standard Edition then.
  14. I've seen a better one than this somewhere.. if I come across will post the link Any luck?
  15. I have tried the apps on the 180 day trial of server. The non-corporate version. I changed it using Windows X's conversion tool. It makes 2003 like XP. Changes OS identifier also. All the apps work perfectly fine. It has problems with Corporate edition which is what I am currently using. So I would like to know how to do it manually or with another tool.
  16. Ok. Tried TweakNT. Its just a regular tweaking program.
  17. I just want something that change the OS identifier. So instead of saying windows 5.2.XXX it says 5.1.XXX so I can install drivers and software that wants to run on 5.1.XXX exclusivelly. Or something like that. I'll try TweakNT. Maybe it can do that.
  18. Thanks I like this last one. Good for classic look when you remove themes.
  19. How does Thunderbird match up to this? Aren't they coming out with a new version?
  20. And do any of these have IP blocking? So I can get rid of my PeerGuardian? Oh and freeware or pay, I don't care. I want it to be just a firewall... so its light on the system. I have antivirus, antispyware and all the other stuff to protect me. Anything else is redundant.
  21. I need a new firewall. I used to use Zone Alarm, but its been giving me problems. Slows down computer way too much. Has antispyware, monitoring tools... and just extra crap I don't need from a firewall. I need a firewall that does just that. No virus, no antispyware, no registry monitoring... just firewall. Preferably with some sort of IP range blocklist like PeerGuardian. Do you guys know or use any? I heard TinyPersonalFirewall used to be good. But its discontinued now.
  22. No. Why would that make a difference? Its still modifying the files either way.
  23. I need to make 2003 think its windows XP. I have apps that "require" XP to run. They check the system they are installed on and refuse to complete instalation. A few drivers do this too. I have 2003 R2 Corporate runnig. I tried the Windows X conversion... but it has no effect. WGA keeps telling me to activate at logon. Apparantely its a problem with winlogon.exe on Corporate. Works with all other versions of 2003, I tried it. But I need coprorate. Has anybody modified the platform identifier manually? If you can't post it, could someone PM me with a link?
  24. Maybe some way to restrict running P2P software? The way they get these "illegal" (debatable) things is through software like uTorrent, eMule... etc.
