  1. Introduction: Here, you will find a list of AMD/Intel CPUs/chipsets and Intel/NVIDIA/AMD GPUs which support Microsoft® Windows Vista™. If you have any additions that aren't currently listed, feel free to reply with them and they will be added as soon as possible. Supported CPUs: Intel (Desktop/Server): Note: Windows Vista has been known to work with Pentium III and even some Pentium II processors, however this configuration is extremely suboptimal and the OS is practically unusable on these processors, so using at least a Pentium 4 (Prescott), plus installing Windows Vista Service Pack 2 is recommended for acceptable performance. Supported GPUs: Intel GPUs: Intel 915GM/GMS will work with Windows Vista by using XP drivers, however Aero Glass isn't supported due to lack of WDDM drivers. Intel GMA 950 (Desktop: 945GC, 945GZ, 945G; Mobile: 945 Family) or newer, last Intel GPU to support Vista is Intel HD 4000 series (Ivy Bridge; Desktop and Mobile). Download Intel HD 4000 Graphics Drivers for Vista: 32 bit - 64 bit ATI/AMD GPUs: ATI Radeon 9250 and all later GPUs released prior to the 9500 will work with Vista using XP drivers, however Aero Glass isn't supported due to lack of WDDM drivers. ATI Radeon 9500 or later; last AMD GPU to support Vista is AMD RX 300 series; drivers are coming soon. The first official version of ATI Catalyst to support Vista is version 7.1. The last official version of AMD Catalyst to support Vista is version 13.12 (Download: 32 bit 64 bit). However, newer versions up to 15.6 Beta for Windows 7 can be modified to work on Vista. View this thread for more details. NVIDIA GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5100 and later NVIDIA GeForce 8 series to GeForce 300 series; download recommended driver here: 32 bit 64 bit NVIDIA GeForce 400 series and later; last NVIDIA GPU to officially support Vista was the GTX 980 along with driver version 365.19. Download here: 32 bit 64 bit - Note: Vista 3D Vision support was dropped around version 310.00. The GTX 1060, 1070, and 1080 can also be made to work with Vista, as driver versions up to 372.70 work with Vista, albeit not officially supported by NVIDIA. Download here: 32 bit 64 bit - Note: DirectX applications aren't properly utilized by these drivers under Windows Vista, so this will cause a bottleneck in performance over using the GTX 980 or older, where the 365.19 drivers (more optimized for Vista as they're officially supported) can be used. Final Apple Mac Computers to support Vista via Boot Camp: iMac; all Late-2009 models Macbook Air; all Mid-2009 models (32-bit only) Macbook and Macbook Pro; all Mid-2010 models Mac Mini; Mid-2010 (This is the only Mac Mini to support Windows Vista 64-bit; earlier models are 32-bit only.) Mac Pro; Mid-2010 Miscellaneous Hardware: Looking for an Xbox One Controller driver for Windows Vista? View this thread for download + how to install (HUGE THANKS TO @GTAGAME for this.) Download Elgato HD 60 S Capture Card drivers here - to install, extract the exe with 7-ZIP and manually install the drivers in Device Manager (thanks again to GTAGAME for pointing this out).

  3. New build of post-deprecated basilisk/moebius for XP! * Notice: This repo will not be built on regular schedule, and changes are experimental as usual. ** Current moebius patch level should be on par with 52.8, but some security patches can not be applied/ported due to source milestone differences between versions. Test binary: Win32 http://o.rthost.cf/basilisk/basilisk55-win32-git-20180707-019ca9a53-xpmod.7z Win64 http://o.rthost.cf/basilisk/basilisk55-win64-git-20180707-019ca9a53-xpmod.7z Repo changes: - fully update tzdata to 2018e (ef763f92e) - branding: optimize PNG (d1df17ccb) - try to sync with UXP to solve crash in msctfime. 4. For those that follow this list, I've been working on a new list titled "Compatible hardware for Windows Vista." I'm mentioning that here because once this new list is complete, I'll be moving the information contained in the "AMD Chipset & Graphics", "Intel Chipset & Graphics", and "NVIDIA Graphics" sections here to the new hardware-oriented list. I'll go ahead and link up to the new thread in the "Quick Links" section for those interested:

  5. all of the netburst and later celerons (up to 3rd gen) should not have an issue running Vista on their respective architectures. And there may have been some early Intel Atom NetBooks capable of running Vista, however not very well, being Netbooks I'm pretty sure the Intel 945 chip set was the first to have an Aero driver

  6. You do realise you can't/shouldn't stay put for ever on a specific browser code snapshot just for the sake of an extension, however valuable it might be for you . Pale Moon 28, at this stage of its development, is constantly evolving - it is expected that some things will break (including extensions) while other things (e.g. page rendering) and/or various bugs are being ironed out... In fact, even when PM28 reaches a stable/release status (early autumn 2018?), we don't expect full 100% compatibility with the Pale Moon 27 ecosystem ; this is due to huge changes in the underlying platform (Tycho [Mozilla 38] -> UXP [Mozilla 52]). I only made the jump from PM27 to NM28 last week and spent several days to tailor it according to my liking; some of the extensions that were working on 27 quit on 28, so upgrades/replacements had to be found; most of all, I mourned over the breakage of my favourite complete theme, FT Deep Dark v9.5.4, but then I moved on to a similar, but 28 compatible, one, Dark Moon 2.0.3 ... But I digress In what exact way does dTa! work badly? More importantly, what version have you got installed? Please see relevant PM forum thread: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=19494 If still on 2.0.18.1, try upgrading to the stable 3.0 branch (i.e. v3.0.8): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/downthemall/versions/?page=1#version-3.0.8 You can also try the nightly 3.0 branch (v3.0.9pre): https://code.downthemall.net/nightly/dta-3-0/ or even the nightly 3.1 branch (3.1.1pre): https://code.downthemall.net/nightly/trunk/ You need Moon Tester Tool Pale Moon extension to install above dTa! versions... (As a precaution when testing new things, always back up your NM profile first ) Regards OT: Nice to see the forum is usable again , after 3 days of serious issues...
