  2. @Gansangriff , not sure if it's on-topic , but since you've started , I agree... I'm a simple guy , so my plans for the retirement are rather simple too. 1 - I'm gonna find a quiet place to live , but not far from a medical facility , just in case , nowadays it won't be easy , I guess. 2 - I'll buy an Opel Olympia Deluxe (4-door) sedan 1938 , I actually owned this very Opel in the 90's (which I got from my grandfather) , but it had 2 doors only and I always wanted the 4-door variant. https://cdn.nettiauto.com/live/2020/01/23/8184165c7df0d21c-large.jpg If I won't be able to find the Olympia one , I'll switch to Opel Kadett K38. For those who are wondering , it is a simplified Olympia from the same year . https://www.vccsturm.cz/sites/www.vccsturm.cz/files/renovace/o/p/opel_kadett_k38_spezial_0.jpg https://uploads.carandclassic.co.uk/uploads/cars/opel/13726308.jpg 3 - And this one is my dream car , if I will have enough money for permits and restoration , which won't be easy to obtain, as one may guess. A nice multi-purpose car . Convenient for big families and off-road driving. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/53/28/86/532886aed64161085baab132cbb266f6.jpg http://www.casmodels.org/uploads/5/5/1/1/5511257/1151113.jpg P.S. All cars will be repainted to FELDGRAU.

  3. For those rare users who have forced translations to russian/chinese (which I don't) , try to add flag --disable-translate .

  4. Yes , it can , they just add more and more with each newer release . I'm on the first 13 beta and not going to "upgrade".

  5. Exactly ! I've been saying this for a long time , don't trust Russians. I think there's only one user here that makes such claims (not pointing at anyone). For example , they didn't remove this , see proof. And who knows what was added by them . You're totally right , you're better off removing it by yourself from the original.

  6. 1- Everything is in English for me with the "unpack portable command". C) - No such line in my settings at all and everything is in English for me everywhere . P.S. My system language is British English , folks time to use proper English.

  7. Have you seen this post ? I had discovered this chinese DNS a long time ago (which was left there by the "talented" russian hackers/repackers), please mention me if you're going to publsih it somewhere else or in the other topics. Also , try to block my IP list (published here earlier , scroll back). https://msfn.org/board/topic/182304-extreme-explorer-360-chromium-78-86-general-discussion/page/15/?tab=comments#comment-1194253

  8. I'm back after 3 weeks away! I have also just found that Outlook Express was no longer able to access my Hotmail messages, so I tried Dream Mail, and discovered that it installed successfully on XP but an error message told me that the ModernAuth component only works in Windows 10 and 11. I then tried OE Classic, and managed to activate ModernAuth in the way Astroskipper describes above. The old MyPal is my default browser, and it surprisingly even worked through that (I am also still accessing the Hotmail Basic Layout browser version through it for the moment, although I was expecting it to be cut off in August). I am finding that OE Classic works pretty well: it seems a bit slower than Outlook Express, but maybe that's inevitable with more complex polling. It looks wonderfully familiar: I am surprised Microsoft let them use an interface so like Outlook Express, but then imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery. Resource usage is quite low, remaining in single figures when in use even on this 22 year old rig. To answer Dave-H's question, every folder has an associated mbx file, which stores the messages, and a db database file (see image). According to https://filext.com/file-extension/MBX mbx files are Outlook Express mailbox files, but, as Dave-H, says, mine have all been dbx files. Maybe mbx was a format used in an earlier version? The free version functions effectively; by default it does a spell check when sending a message which only works in the pro version, so a message pops up linking to the payment page. This can easily be suppressed by turning off the spell check in Options, but a more irritating feature is that every message is preceded by this advertisement: "New Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail replacement - get it here: https://www.oeclassic.com/ " The paid version costs £35.60, but you only get a three year subscription, not full ownership. I'm thinking about it...

  9. If I were to report every dirty website that doesn't run properly in UXP browsers, this thread would be completely littered. Apart from that, I consider requests for members to register on such a questionable website to verify login problems to be highly dubious and a no-go. I think rather important and reputable websites should be considered here.

  11. I won't make a SSE version of yt-dlp, because the PyInstaller building module produces exe's which require SSE2+. The alternative would be a crippled py2exe build. See here.

  12. Those look very much older, most likely used to get the costs down. Very similar to the items from the 80s/90s, not 2003.

  13. Thank you very much for testing! Glad to hear that my latest mod seems to be working for you. BTW, for me, too.

  14. I have just investigated the last versions of the webextension uBlock Origin. The last version where the internal list is still compatible with uBlock Origin Legacy is definitely uBlock Origin 1.49.2. Starting with version 1.50.0, there are incompatible entries inside which lead, for example, to the "Annoyances" bug and which I had to remove in my latest mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0.

  15. @nicolaasjan I will create another, fixed version of my previous mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2 in the next few days and also offer here. The internal list inside that version was still compatible with uBlock Origin Legacy when I created it. So everyone can decide for themselves how up-to-date they want to be.

  16. Yes, it is present there too but it points to the old internal list for uBlock Origin Legacy which is not updated since 2018. That is the reason you won't notice any changes of available filter lists in this version. Therefore, it works as long these filter lists still exist and are updated on a regular base. Just a reminder, the reason for creating modded versions of uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2 apart from initial display errors in the dashboard was the performance problems while updating the selected filter lists and to get the more recent filter lists which were only offered by the webextensions of uBlock Origin. @nicolaasjan If uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2 is sufficient for you and still working, use it! I will check this version once again the next days.

  17. Yes, it is present there too but it points to the old internal list for uBlock Origin Legacy which is not updated since 2018 except a change by JustOff with the commit message "Force the syntax converter for additional filter lists" two years ago. That is the reason you won't notice any changes of available filter lists in this version. Therefore, it works as long these filter lists still exist and are updated on a regular base. PS: That means patching the code for self-updating the internal list is not really necessary in the untouched version 1.16.4.31b2. It cannot get the most recent but incompatible list anyway.

  18. Just to clarify it, I don't mean the self-updating of the selected filter lists by the user but the self-updating of the internal list of all preselected, default filter lists. That are completely different things.

  19. As I already wrote in my article, the version 1.16.4.31b2 is the one which all my mods are based on. The issue in terms of the "Annoyances" will come sooner or later due to the self-update of the internal list of all preselected, default filter lists. The version 1.16.4.31b2 has to be patched, too, at least to prevent this self-updating.

  20. That's what I guessed, too. There was also code which was apparently incompatible and already removed by me. And we have to bear in mind that there are now 5 years time difference between version 1.16 and 1.54. Therefore, incompatibilities are to be expected. @nicolaasjan If you can identify which filter list is missing and should be restored from my previous version, I will add it to the code of my new release. I only need the exact name of the filter list.

  21. FYI, the filter lists in my new mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0 are identical with the lists of the webextension uBlock Origin 1.54.0 except one which was implemented nonsensically twice. And I am able to add any lists to the code of the preselected, default ones (or at least I think so ), only if they are of any importance, of course.

  22. Yes, Very good! As already discussed in the previous posts, this will presumably change the next time when the file filters-2024.txt starts to exist on uBlock's servers. For creating my new mod 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0, I have deleted all previous lists and taken over all the new ones from the current webextension uBlock Origin 1.54.0. Maybe, there was a list in my previous version 1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2 which contained filters that now don't exist anymore. This has to be investigated more deeply. Maybe, you can add a special filter list for YouTube videos via "Custom filters". As I already mentioned, I will have a look into that when I am again at my desktop computer which is not the case at the moment.

  23. Thanks for your feedback! As for the existence of the file filters-2024.txt, it doesn't seem to be on uBlock's server at the moment as you already stated, but we will see very soon what's going on with it and that with a probability bordering on certainty. To be or not to be that is the question.

  24. The updating of all filter lists and therefore also the "uBlock filters - Ads" list was tested by me several times and worked perfectly. However, I didn't test YouTube as I run those videos either externally in VLC or in browsers and the YouTube app on my Android tablet. In New Moon 28 or Serpent 52, I usually watch embedded videos very rarely. Did you perform a clean install of uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0 as described in my article? This time, such procedure is really necessary to avoid problems. And can you please provide the YouTube video link where the blocking of ads doesn't work if possible due to privacy reasons? Did it work with my previous version 1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2? Any further information is welcome and helpful, of course. Anyway! When I am again at my desktop computer, I will have a look into that.

  25. I suggest you watch some videos on how to disassemble your exact laptop's model before you do it ! It may not be as easy as it seems and it can get damaged .

  26. I'm guessing your laptop has the annoying "optimus" technology , which doesn't work with Vista. If no , then it's fantastic ! These will definitely work with Vista (Vista is in the .inf section , see below) 920MX drivers : 32-bit https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/105846/en-us 64-bit https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/105849/en-us %NVIDIA_A% = NVIDIA_Devices,NTx86.6.0,NTx86.6.1,NTx86.6.2,NTx86.6.3,NTx86.10.0

  27. Nope , not my ISP . I do not use bookmarks (never). Why ? Because chrome uses them for spying too.
    1 point
  28. Maybe a good idea , but that just would be too easy . It connects to plenty of US owned/located IPs too . Chinese folks use US companies for their dirty spying , no one cares , it's just business , lol . Look at my list , just scroll back.
