The menu bar being deprecated is absolutely possible, but that means that I am at a loss right now on how to access those settings when I want the minimal look of the Win 7 command bar.

That paste was a test. So I can confirm it works if I *bypass* uBO (which I've never had to do before). So okay, yeah, I should have checked that first, I didn't isolate which list/rule is the culprit. But it is something with uBO preventing the pasted image from posting. No clue, at least I know I can do things the "easy way" (NO FILE HOSTING) and just copy/paste as long as uBO is temporarily bypassed.

Thanks @jumper it looks as if it's still working for you too. I will ask xper (he's on holiday at the moment) if he can suggest why it may not be working for some members.

Thanks @Tangy! Good to know that Panda seems to be OK for you as well now. Whether it will keep working on XP long-term remains to be seen, of course, but if you have a paid version, it seems to be about the only option for XP which includes real-time scanning, albeit online rather than local, plus a firewall and protection against dodgy websites. Let's hope it keeps going!

I've raised this with xper. Apparently it's bots attacking the server. Using something like (dare I say it) Cloudflare would probably prevent this, but that would cost a lot of money, which we haven't got. 😟

MSFN’s gone completely haywire and is now even posting multiple times. It’s been nothing but glitches for weeks.

Good news here about Panda Dome on Windows XP! Perhaps the appeal did have some effect after all, and many users have contacted support. Whether that’s a good thing or not, this news comes too late for me as I am using now Comodo Antivirus. It has a real offline scanner with a huge definitions database contrary to Panda.

Hmm. I just tried pasting my image where your image should have been, and it seems to have worked! I'll need to consult xper about this.

The image DOES NOT POST. Despite being displayed in the "editor". That it how I've posted screencaps my entire history of being a member. It hasn't worked (for me) since when xper cleared out a bunch of fake accounts and whatever else he did back whenever that was. March? April? It was when all of the Google results and "siamese" or whatever language was hacking the "google index" or whatever it is called. The pasting into the editor hasn't worked for me ever since.

I type a message... I *paste* my image into the editor... ie, as I did just now, right here >>> It SHOWS IN THE EDITOR... I "Submit Reply"...

@NotHereToPlayGames That balloon picture was copied and pasted into the editor and seems to have posted fine. What actually happens when you try it? Does it not post at all, or does it post but without the image?

I've released a small update to HFSLIP 1.8 on GitHub. Mainly it's just to clean a few things up in preparation of future plans. HFSLIP as it currently stands is too difficult to maintain and add to. XP and Server 2003 are handled just fine by nLite + various other slipstreaming utilities - it is just 2000 that is left in the dark except for HFSLIP. Thus, I plan to fork HFSLIP 1.8 into a Windows 2000-only version and continue my efforts there. When that time comes, I will post about it elsewhere. (Should not be too hard to find. ).

Also, it could be possible that whatsup just does not work with UNGOOGLED. To the best of my knowledge, Supermium *STILL* is *NOT* a truly ungoogled fork. This is an old thread, but this was *TRUE* with the last version of Supermiun that I tested - https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/1674 Supermium isn't "as" ungoogled as OTHER ungoogled forks.

Bummer. I don't even know what whatsup / watsap is so I couldn't try it here. But that version of Chrome does work in XP, so maybe whatsup / watsap has an issue with XP and it's not the browser ???

Can you please post a pasted image ??? I should have been more "detailed". I can paste into the editor, BUT IT DOES NOT POST THE IMAGE TO MSFN WHEN I SUBMIT THAT REPLY.

Most accounts you saw online were really bots masquerading as people - all part of some nefarious scheme to control humankind by keeping us isolated and divided. That last part is far-fetched, but the core of the idea - that bots outnumber humans online - is inexorably starting to feel weirdly grounded. Fortune did a roundup of the latest data on the makeup of internet traffic, and most of it points to humans now being a quaint minority. "There’s a lot of missing pieces of information, but a lot of the observed data suggests the same thing, which is like there is more bot activity," Rudy Yang, a financial tech analyst at Pitchbook, told Fortune. "Agentic AI activity is driving a lot of the browser activity you’re seeing." This should come as no surprise. Bots have been everywhere on social media for a while now, and more and more people are wielding little posses of AI agents to do stuff on the internet on their behalf, ranging from conducting research to shopping. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman infamously said he was worried that the dead internet theory was coming true last year, seemingly without a shred of self-awareness. Further corroborating this new paradigm, Cloudflare announced in June that 57 percent of webpage requests were being made by bots, marking the first time that bots made up the majority by its own metrics. Bots have long been ubiquitous, but AI agents are doing the most to reshape the web. I wrote that there is no portable one, but of course I immediately unpacked ungoogled-chromium_150.0.7871.46-1.1_installer_x86.exe - unfortunately, web watsap does not work even with this version of chrome... so... supermium for web whatsup, . [and serpent55/mypal68 for xp; that's all]

OK, I have now tried it on my netbook, using Supermium 144. I'm sure my desktop at home will be the same. It seems to work for me. I opened my image viewer (xnview classic), opened an image, right clicked and selected 'copy'. I then opened this reply, right-clicked, and selected 'paste'. The image appeared as an attachment and was inserted into the post. The keyboard shortcuts also worked. So, I don't know why it's not working for you I'm afraid. This is off-topic here of course, perhaps if you can't resolve it you could report it in the site issues section.

It is not the restriction or profile storage space. It's the "editor" that MSFN uses. It **CHANGED** recently. Ever since the time span where xper had to manually delete "fake profiles" and whatever else was done at the time. In this "editor" that I type this very message in, you **USED TO** be able to **PASTE** a screencap from the OS's "clipboard". You **USED TO** be able to **PASTE** jpg/bmp/etc just by TYPING in this "editor" box and doing a "ctrl-v" from *ANY* image editor whereupon the "ctrl-c" was done from within that image editor. NOW, the *only* way to post images is to use a hosting service or link to an image via "Other Media". It didn't *USED TO* be that way, we could just PASTE into the "reply editor".
