amenx Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 How do I prevent XP from installing or prompting me to install languages that I dont understand (as a result of visiting mixed language sites)? Thought I saw this option in Gpedit.msc but looked there and couldnt find it. Not in IE options either. I know I saw it somewhere just cant figure out where. Thanks.

nitroshift Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Next time you see that pop-up, check the box "Never install language packs".
amenx Posted October 9, 2006 Author Posted October 9, 2006 Next time you see that pop-up, check the box "Never install language packs". Problem is, it doesnt seem to work. I always check the "Never install language packs", yet it keeps coming back.
nitroshift Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I'd recommend you then to thoroughly scan your pc for viruses / malware.
severach Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 One way is to install them but then you get that pesky Language bar coming up all the time.
Takeshi Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Disable Automatic Install of IE Components in GP? Don't know if that applies to webpage languages.
