reederlu Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 i have been trying to install an .exe file that has been sent to me, and the script editor wont open it b/c:"Unable to read the dictionary of the application or extension because it is not scriptable." so what do i do to make it scriptable?
gamehead200 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Are you trying to open an executable file in Mac OS X? Those don't work on a Mac operating system...[ Moved. ]
LLXX Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 ROFL... EXEs are a PC executable format.Mac has its own format which is completely incompatible.
redxii Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 ROFL... EXEs are a PC executable format.Correction: EXEs are Windows executables.
CoffeeFiend Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Correction: EXEs are Windows executables.Don't be so pedantic. Everybody knows what he meant - PC as in the old x86 box running MS OS'es (Windows typically).I can't help but laugh when I think someone expected Windows apps to run onto OS X
EchoNoise Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Er... Dos used EXE's... and thats not windows... Made by the same company... but not windows!
WBHoenig Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 ...Unless the original poster was intending to run in on WINE.
jasonp Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 yes if u use a program for example an emulator you can emulate an .exe file on mac osx or linux or whatever but it wont run as good
Dellius Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Hmmm since new Intel Macs support windows why don't you just use BootCamp ?
