ricktendo Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 (edited) Is it possible to burn one ISO that is too big to fit on a single CD split it into two, burn it onto two diferent CDs and make it bootable? No, I dont have a DVD Burner. Its 800-Megs, Windows XP Pro Sp2 Corporate, ISO it has RVM update pack Edited July 15, 2006 by ricktendo64
LLXX Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 (edited) You can try overburning one CD... depending on the manufacturer you can get anywhere from 750 to 890Mb on a "700Mb" CD-R. Edited July 15, 2006 by LLXX

CptMurphy Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 You could also try optimizing it. What's the data?

jaws75 Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 (edited) I know this is a bit off topic but it may help...Removing some folders can save room.I save 180mb by removing the cmpnents,SUPPORT,VALUEADD,LANG,WIN9XMIG,WIN9XUPG and WINNTUPG folders. You may have to be careful of the LANG folder seeing as english is not your first language. One thing I do is...My install CD calls a batch file from my second hard drive during install. The apps get installed as if they were on the CD but they are not. This saves room on the CD. If you have two CD drives you could call the batch from the other CD.In my RunOnceEx I haveFOR %%j IN (D E F G H I J K L M) DO IF EXIST %%j:\XP\install\External.cmd SET EXTRAS=%%j:IF exist %EXTRAS%\XP\install\External.cmd REG ADD %KEY%\090 /VE /D "Adding External Programs" /fIF exist %EXTRAS%\XP\install\External.cmd REG ADD %KEY%\090 /V 1 /D "%EXTRAS%\XP\install\External.cmd" /f Edited July 15, 2006 by jaws75
ricktendo Posted July 16, 2006 Author Posted July 16, 2006 What I did:Simple I made my own driverpacks using Driver Genius Pro, it has an update and backup fuction wich is perfect for making your own BTS custom driverpacks. My ISO is now 688 megs @ jaws75 there is an addon that does what u said http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1535
pmshah Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 You can try overburning one CD... depending on the manufacturer you can get anywhere from 750 to 890Mb on a "700Mb" CD-R.This 900 mb option is only available Sanyo's special drives. This would be fine if all possible machines on which this cd is likely to be used also have the same drive.
ricktendo Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 (edited) I found something like nLite that can make a unatended CD, add Ryans Update Packs and Addons and also split the ISO over multiple CDs. But its not as good as nLite. http://www.vitaligraf.de/en/ EDIT: $h!t dosnt work Edited July 24, 2006 by ricktendo64
Alanoll Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Step 1 : Don't use nLite to add programs.Step 2 : Read http://unattended.msfn.org to learn to do it yourself.Step 3 : http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8381
