Bugs Bunny
Here is my updated set of XP icons for w2k + registry files I promised to make in this thread:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=69221(Thread has some additional info and a screenshot)* Here is the updated icl set with some new extra icons:iclXP.7zThe reg files are attached.*Here is the link to Electrician's silent installer hosted by TaiN:Silent installer*Here is a link to NT4 icons (fdv) and good info for those who are interested in ressource hacked icons (Kramy):NT4 icons / ressource hacking_______________Some new icl files are more useful (sendmail - context menu) than others (ntbackup). Most registry entries do not use environment variables (like %WinDir%) they use eg. C:\Winnt\System32.So if one uses different locations the regfiles have do be adapted. That's for my attatched reg files only. The installer uses environment variables! The icl files that go into subfolders of Program Files I did not include into the HFSLIP reg version. It seems that including explorer&internetsettingsXP.reg into the HFSLIP reg has no effect. It has to be applied after user logon. It is the small icon in the explorer status bar and one icon in internet settings - security.Everyone is welcome to add new icl files / reg files for differnt systems, updates and stuff related to icons + HFSLIP (cmd files...) here in this thread.Reg.7z Edited June 16, 2007 by TAiN Fixed a URL
fdv
I'm the INF guy, so I decided to take a few minutes to punch up your XP.INF file from the REG source. You knnow, now that I think about it, you could use this to package all of the files into an EXE using IEXPRESS and then have something to drop into HFSVCPACK_SW. Any takers?Changes:all c:\ paths changes to a system variablecopyfiles section added (is that helpful or no?)[Version]Signature= "$Windows NT$"SetupClass=Base[DestinationDirs]file.copy = 11 ; fdv
HAHAHA I love all you guys, bugs posts, i post, electrician posts and boom we have an add-on for xp icons in windows 2000 for hfslip users. I love it. Sometimes we can't get the volunteers but when we do it's pretty darn cool Electrician, try these:http://www.megashare.com/http://www.rapidupload.com/
tain
I can host files and space isn't an issue. Just send to me at DELETED and I'll take care of it.I was a fan of those free services until I went to update my codec pack and saw that the links are dead...they just aren't dependable. Squeeto
Kramy making a cmd fileAre you back or still more interested in the USP system hack method?I was recently told by FDV that with respect to problems-it will be that much harder for us in the forum to track down what's going onOk, so it was for a completely different situation but system hacks (that no one else is using) might also lead to this. I guess I am also asking if there is any other interest in this method either than myself?

We appreciate your work and just wanted to help/augment.Besides, some folk like things bundled, some don't, but it's all good. <halway through and changing methodology, bugs bugs {lousy syntax sintax spintax...}>
tommyp
Pardon my ignorance, but if I put that exe file in the HFSVCPACK_SW folder, nothing happens. If run the program standalone, files extract, but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? FWIW, after "installation", I have a explorer.icl file located in the root of my drive. With my HFCLEANUP'd installation, I don't have a PF/Internet Explorer folder. Does this folder need to be present for this icon pack to install? Kramy
I have no idea, but maybe you should use the .cmd file? It only registers stuff if it ends up in the proper locations. Lol...couldn't resist. Oh, and FYI, the .cmd file makes registry changes based on Bug's first registry entries....though that's obvious if anybody noticed the posting times.tommyp: isn't HFSVCPACK_SW for Q:A R:N?(whatever that means) I throw all my switchless installers in HFSVCPACK. Super-Magician
Kramy: Yes, HFSVCPACK_SW is for installers that require /Q:A /R:N switches.
tommyp
CMD file? Where is it? I may as well go back to the old way of installing this pack.

There were errors in the inf file (used without checking) The files were copied but the reg entries were not done. It was a rush job...I now have a fixed version with the ability to uninstall, ready and on its way. Edited May 21, 2006 by Electrician
