  1. Thanks for the replies! With HFSLIP 1.7.10 beta K it now worked perfectly!
  2. I've always been using rootsupd.exe in the HF folder as there is a distinct code part in hfslip that handles rootsupd.exe Now Microsoft seems to have changed the rootsupdate no longer supporting disallowedcert. I've extracted an older version of rootsupd.exe and a newer one and compared the options available. Old version: New version: The –u option (add to disallowed root store) is no longer available. The extracted rootsupd.exe does not contain a disallowedcert.sst file any more. But still hfslip gets a disallowedcert.sst from somewhere else (but I do not know where-from). During setup therefore an error shows up, because hfslip wants to run updroots.exe for disallowedcert.sst with the options –l –u and the –u option is no longer available. So as Microsoft removed the –u option from updroots.exe, is it safe to remove the codepart from hfslip that handles disallowedcert.sst specifically? (this should resolve the error during setup) IF EXIST WORK\I386E\disallowedcert.sst ( REN WORK\I386E\disallowedcert.sst rvkcert.sst ECHO>>SOURCESS\I386\TXTSETUP.SIF rvkcert.sst = 1,,,,,,,998,0,0&ECHO>>SOURCESS\I386\DOSNET.INF d1,rvkcert.sst ECHO>>WORK\HFSLIPCMDP1.TXT %%SYSTEMROOT%%\HFSLIP\updroots.exe -l -u %%SYSTEMROOT%%\HFSLIP\rvkcert.sst ) Anyone knows where the disallowedcert.sst comes from (as it no longer comes from rootsupd.exe itself)?
  3. There seems to be a small typo in the hfslipfc-130206-xp131218 script: The script is looking for WindowsXP-KB289398-x86.reg whereas it should be WindowsXP-KB2893984-x86.reg
  4. The newest version of Windows Update does not come as installable .exe anymore but as different .cab files. Is anyone able to modify the newest HFSLIP so that it integrates these cab files? These should be the cab files of the newest windows update, whereas XX is a placeholder for localized versions (fr, it, de...) http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wsus3setup.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wuapi.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wuapi_XX.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wuauclt.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wuaucpl.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wuaucpl_XX.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wuaueng.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wuaueng_XX.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wucltui.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wucltui_XX.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wups.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/b/selfupdate/WSUS3/x86/Other/wups2.cab http://www.update.microsoft.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/redir/muv4wuredir.cab http://www.update.microsoft.com/v9/1/windowsupdate/selfupdate/wuident.cab It would be great if someone could modify the HFSLIP script, so that you just have to put these cab files into the HFCABS folder and the files get integrated.
  5. Hi strel, any idea how low it will take you to publish a new bugfixed version? I'll do a new HFSLIPed XP install and I am not sure if I should wait for the new version or just create a Dotnet Package with the current version and the latest two updates/hotfixes from February. Also I do not know if the bugs mentioned above are only some small things or more severe. BTW: thanks a lot for your work on this!
  6. Well with my method WU seems to be happy (including dotnet package). After setup has finished and I enter WU website no updates are missing except (I think) 3 optional ones (windows search, windows live, power shell)
  7. Hi bfc_xxx, if you change the HFSLIP script a bit like I explained here: http://www.msfn.org/board/silverlight-3-t135961.html you can put the originial microsoft vc runtimes (vcredist8_x86.exe and vcredist9_x86.exe) into HFSVCPACK_SW2 and they will get installed at t-13. I did build a Dotnet installer see http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=127790 not removing the vc runtimes. Normally after that micosoft update would require the updated vc runtimes. As it seems HFSVCPACK_SW2 gets installed at t-13 after HFSVCPACK where I put the donet package. But with the two VC runtimes in HFSVCPACK_SW2 they were not missing in micosoft update, what means that the got installed at t-13 with the modified switch in the hfslip script. SET SW2=/Q:A /R:N to: SET SW2=/q
  8. Since I had no application in HFSVCPACK_SW2, I put the original downloaded Silverlight.exe into it. Then I've canged the line of hfslip-1.7.9_beta_m.cmd from: SET SW2=/Q:A /R:N to: SET SW2=/q Since Silverlight needs /q for a silent install. I did a test install with the HFLIPed source and Silverlight got installed at T-13 just fine. The newest version Silverlight 3 can be downloaded with the same link. Windows update showed no necesary update for Silverlight. Silverlight also shows up under add/remove software.
  9. Silverlight 3 has been released and here is the direct download link: Silverlight 3 It can be installed silently with Silverlight.exe /q What's the right folder to put Silverlight.exe? HFSVCPACK_SW1 or HFSVCPACK_SW2?
  10. Thanks for the info Geej! The Silverlight 2.0 installer from your link works perfectly when put in HFSVCPACK.
  11. Is ist possible to integrate Silverlight.2.0.exe in one of the three HFSVCPACK folders? Or does it only work when put into HFGUIRUNONCE? Silverlight.2.0.exe contains the following files is extracted: install.exe install.res.dll silverlight.msi silverlight.msp uaclauncher.exe Download Link: Silverlight.2.0.exe Anyone got it working?
  12. I've put WindowsXP-KB956391-x86 in the HF folder but after installing the HFSLIPed XP, Microsoft Update still wants WindowsXP-KB956391-x86. Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a workaround?
  13. Thanks a lot Tomcat76! With the test release everything worked perfectly. I had no delay for the post-install wizard.
  14. I had time to test it now with HFSLIP 1.7.7 but for me it does not work. Used a source that already contained SP3 and added the following things for WMP10 (HF folder): mp10setup.exe WindowsMedia10-KB936782-x86-DEU.exe WindowsMedia6-KB925398-v2-x86-DEU.exe WindowsXP-KB923689-v2-x86-DEU.exe WindowsXP-KB941569-x86-DEU.exe After the first logon I started wmp and the setup dialogue for WMP V 9 appeared imediately. After completing the dialogue a message appeared that wmp had not been installed corretly and asked if I would like to reinstall it.
  15. About WMP11: I've been playing arround with WMP11 and am absolutely disapointed. When starting WMP11 it always want's to start the UPnP service and some more services. I do not need this service (I've deactivated about 20 unnecesary services). Since I've deactivated it, I always get an error in the syslog that UPnP could not be started. For me that's simpy junky software. If I do not need UPnP why does WMP11 want to start it? I do would like WMP10 being integrated because eg. Media-Portal requires WMP10 as a minimum. But with SP3 an integration of WMP10 does not work for me any more Installing WMP10 manually on a XP SP3 system works without any problem.
  16. Has anyone already tested if hfsliping windows media player 10 into a slipstreamed xp sp3 is working? Are there adidional wmp10 updated needed in the hf folder?
  17. There seems to be a new version of Silverlight.exe: 1.13.113.0 Timestamp 01. April 2008
  18. Hi I have two things I was wondering if it's possible to integrate them using HFSLIP and if yes, where do these files have to go? 1) vcredist_x86.exe (Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package) 2) replace the two files: mpeg2data.ax PsisDecd.dll In an installed Windows they reside in system32 and driver.cab (PsisDecd.dll). It's for a media center setup. They recommend it here: http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-...indows-xp-6344/
  19. I use hfslip plus a reg file with good results. The reg file disables unneeded services by default and does some other things (security and looks related). With all the updates and extras on TC's list plus some extra ms fixes not in the list plus IE7 and wmp10 and a Silent installer for DotNet 1.1 + 2 I have a bit under 50Mbyte of RAM used by windows with nothing extra installed. With Antivirus (AVG) + Firewall (Comodo PF) + drivers 'bout 120MByte of RAM are used. These are the services I disable with the Reg file. They are only disabled or set to manual and can be set to automatic if needed. 4=disabled 3=manual [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CiSvc] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ALG] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ERSvc] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Nla] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteRegistry] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\srservice] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\seclogon] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wscsvc] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WZCSVC] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Themes] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SSDPSRV] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TrkWks] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LmHosts] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Schedule] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS] "Start"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache] "Start"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\helpsvc] "Start"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PolicyAgent] "Start"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SamSs] "Start"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\winmgmt] "Start"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\upnphost] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\mnmsrvc] "Start"=dword:00000004 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UPHClean] "Start"=dword:00000004 I normaly use a fixed IP so I can disable the DHCP service also. kb886677

Anyone knows if kb886677 (mlang.dll) is for ie6 only or if it can be applied for ie7 as well?
  21. Windows Update/mbsa do not show this update on a already installed XP and trying to install the update results in an error: C:\WINDOWS\system32\oieng400.dll is Not Present So shouldn't this update be excluded for XP SP2? It seems that it's only necessary for people who have the Kodak Image Viewer actually installed. W2k came with the viewer but XP doesn't seem to have it.
  22. There is a new Update for Internet Explorer 7 available from Oktober patchday: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB939653) Guess that makes at least part of the "IE7 special treatment" of the latest Test version obsolet... Some more oktober Patchday updates: Security Update for Outlook Express for Windows XP Security Update for Windows XP (KB933729) Security Update for Windows XP (KB923810)

    MSXML4.0 SP2

Under Supported Operating Systems it says Windows Vista only. Is KB941833 compatible for XP SP2 as well?
  24. Microsoft has released new IE7 setup packages that do not require activation/legitimation any more. Download: IE7 This may be an advantage in integrating IE7 with HFSLIP.
  25. Thanks a lot Tomalak and TC! With MUAuth.cab and the new Windows Update Agent, Windows Update runs flawlessly without the need of an update at first run again!
