So I finally purchased a spare hdd to use as a backup drive for my important files. Wondering what ppl recommended for backup software. Guess I dont need anything too fancy as all I plan to do is weekly backups of certain folders to disk.

You also could just simply use WinXP's Backup.

...or Windows Explorer's Copy+Paste.

...or Windows XCopy, or Microsofts XCopy on Steroids, RoboCopy.

7z is good too, depends what type of backups you'll be doing tbh

guys, i also want a backup software coz im planning to buy a DVD RW nxt month.. i want to backup all my MP3's but with Password protection,, i want it in an archive with password that doesnt take too much time compressing... som1 recommend using Acronis? waht do u think? ty!

use 7z! change it to 'store' mode, and use a bat file to do it
