xinok Posted January 13, 2006 Author Share Posted January 13, 2006 (edited) To those who recommended alternative clients: Thanks anyways, but I've found that the official clients always work much better.I found AIM AdHack lite, which worked perfect.TBH, the ads in AIM didn't bother me... until it started playing video ads O_o Then I decided the ads had to go.So thanks a lot for the recommendations. Synapse Posted January 13, 2006 Share Posted January 13, 2006 glad ya got what ya wanted.I personally use AIMutation 1.3.2 with AIM 5.5.3598 sadly its been discontinued.I also put the following in my C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (no extention) file.127.0.0.1 ar.atwola.com127.0.0.1 empiremovies.com127.0.0.1 xlonhcld.xlontech.net127.0.0.1 VTOT.proxy.aol.com127.0.0.1 ads.web.aol.com127.0.0.1 ads.aol.com thats stopped every ad for me so far. empiremovies is the one that plays the annoying movies. Wicket20519 Posted January 13, 2006 Share Posted January 13, 2006 When I first used AIM, the darn JAVA ads kept freezing up AIM.When I loaded AIM Ad Hacks, I kept getting kicked off every 10 minutes or so.When I switched to GAIM, all was well.
