RBCC Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 TommyP: Does this work in Windows XP? Could someone write a tutorial for drivers in Windows XP? John
tommyp Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Other than nvidia drivers, it works as I have mentioned a few times in this thread. Please refer to post #68. I used a driver program, like drivermax or driver genious or other similar program to get my post windows drivers. They are named oem1, oem2, etc. Those files are the ones needed to slipstream drivers. You may need to edit INF files if you run into probs during installation. Another option is to use the same program and set up a typical OEM structure as stated on the unattended website.
jimmsta Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 TommyP: Does this work in Windows XP? Could someone write a tutorial for drivers in Windows XP? John I've been using the following files in my hfexpert folder: Files in your HFEXPERT folder:C:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\a320mgt.catC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\a320mgt.infC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\a320raid.catC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\a320raid.infC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\a320raid.sysC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aac.catC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aac.infC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aaccin.dllC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aacevt.exeC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aacmgt.infC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aarich.catC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aarich.infC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aarich.sysC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aichmgt.catC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\aichmgt.infC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\DriverLanguageMap.xmlC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\hraidsk1C:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\iaahci.catC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\iaahci.infC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\iastor.catC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\iastor.infC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\IaStor.sysC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\IDECOI.DLLC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\license.txtC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\NVATA.CATC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\NVATA.SYSC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\NVATA_4.INFC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\NVATABUS.SYSC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\NVCOI.DLLC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\NVIDE.NVUC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\NVUIDE.EXEC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\raidisk1C:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\readme.txtC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\storage.iniC:\XPHFS\HFEXPERT\STORAGE\Version.txtThis integrates the majority of the drivers that DELL includes on all of their XP installation CDs. I integrate these drivers using HFSLIP, and have never had a problem with them working with their associated hardware. I recommend to anyone that's working with multiple systems to try this.
RBCC Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 does this install the drivers or just put them in the driver.cab file? John
Kiki Burgh Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 (edited) hi! i don't remember how my dir structure was when i last integrated drivers using hfslip ... i'd just like to ask if these subs could be parsed:\HFEXPERT\DRIVERCAB\ATI SMBus\HFEXPERT\DRIVERCAB\Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller\HFEXPERT\DRIVERCAB\NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT\HFEXPERT\DRIVERCAB\Realtek High Definition Audio\HFEXPERT\DRIVERCAB\VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMnet1\HFEXPERT\DRIVERCAB\VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMnet8i read above abt tc's thoughts re dos limitations & tp's reco (posts 61 & 63 respectively) so i'm wondering too if i'd just get all the files inside each folder & throw them all in \HFEXPERT\DRIVERCAB\ btw, i'll be trying the ff (right after posting this but your thoughts will still be valuable):1. leave dir structure as is2. short names & no spaces for dirs in \DRIVERCAB3. remove all sub-dirs & just throw all files in \DRIVERCABappreciate the feedback-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------edit: just reporting back ...it'd seem that leaving the dir structure as presented above worked (1st option) ... i expected the ff results:1. display setting adjustment wouldn't prompt me any longer (before the mini setup) as i've set the resolution & refresh rate via winnt.sif2. driver installation wouldn't be needed anymore post installhowever, both expectations were not met as i still had to adjust resolution ... & drivers (for bus, display, audio & nic) still needed to be installed via the device installation cds btw, i have these set in hfanswer.ini:DRIVERCOMP=ADELCATS=1i've attached some files: newbin.txt, txtsetup.sif, drvindex.inf & hfslip.log that might be reviewed (& if more files are still needed, i'd attach it here too ... edit2: added hfslipwu.inf to the compressed attachment) ... what could've gone wrong? & how can this be remedied? appreciate the help. cheers!files_fr_hfslip_sourcess.7z Edited December 11, 2009 by Kiki Burgh
