D8TA Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I am trying to figure out a way to enable File and Print sharing on several remote desktops. I couldn't find a command line to do so and am wondering if anyone knows how I can do this. The File and Print sharing is listed but not checked on our image so I don't know if that will help. These are remote desktops not on a domain running Windows XP.
Sonic Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 To share a new folder, use net share command, that's all ...net share TheNamedShared=C:\TheFolderI hope this is you want to do ...Goodbye.
D8TA Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 Well, I am actually trying to share a printer on one desktop to allow it to act as a print server. I was told I needed File and Print Sharing enabled. I looked in the Local Area Connections properties and found it listed just not checked. So I am looking for a way to enable the File and Print Sharing. Thanks for your feedback. I copied that down in case I might need it for future reference.
