Actually, in my working environment, we have 40 or so ppl that rely on the internet for all interaction with the outside world. When it goes down it is usually the satellite system (ie the phones etc are down too) and I get dragged out of bed to fix. Imagine a whole ship behaving like that - it's like something out of resident evil.We have also had serious discussions on if it was possible to get dial-up over the marine VHF.......SP
