dirtwarrior Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Direct X is very bloated with pictures and other uneeded things in it. Is there a guide for taking the bloat out or is there 1 compiled already?
techniquefreak Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Why do you think it's bloated - there's merely a gui coming w/ it - handy for testing your GFX card etc. ...
Martijn Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I think he means the fact that it installs a lot of images about for example game controlers (PC of course)
Jeremy Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Use nLite on Windows to remove unwanted multimedia files. Delete the DirectX images. Other than that, there are dozens of DLL files.
suryad Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Wha? What images are you guys talking about that are related to DirectX?
dirtwarrior Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 Jeremy and Martijn are both correct it has pictures(uneeded) and many dll's not needed just wanted a streamlined DirectX for windows.
dirtwarrior Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 I opened DirectX with resorce hacker to edit No luck
Bold_Fortune Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I posted this for dirtwarrior's benefit. Maybe others can find it useful. http://www.bold-fortune.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=663
