Change icons

Ive seen some great looking icon packs and would like to know a way without third party product change XP icons in an unattended way? All I know about is chnaging My Computer, Documents, Network places and Recycle bin manually

Shocked not a single person could reply. How to change a few icons with reg has been posted so added here for completeness. If more are know please add a reply.

I went through a while back & have used this way to add the icons & info to my reg tweaks so they are auto replaced on install.. Also if u do it this way, then most things cannot over rite them.

there's no need for regfiles, create a .theme file to define your icons.

SiMoNsAyS: theres not written how to change icon for example for folder, cd-roms, run, help and so on. if you know, share please with us.

@mickmack, never talked about drive icons, question was about desk icons (my comp, recycle, my docs and network). so if you just want those, simply use the theme thing, if not, i would use iconpackager to set my icons while i record the changes made into registry with regshot or regsnap.

rite 1st things 1st if u create a theme then that will replace most icons, however the icons for things like show desktop in quicklaunch, control panel icon & all icons in controll panel can be changed vie the reg..

whereas if u create a theme these wont change..
