FthrJACK Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 not possible to install SP1??? i didnt know that, infact.. surely thats wrong. you have to be able to install it. if you meant its not possible to have a pirate key and a copy of DELL OEM xp.. think again!all the OEM versions i can think of have been on the net at somepoint, the tools to make your own "OEM" version are all over the place too, so you can modify that dell logo to say HELL if you wanted Welcome to the world of OEM, its inherant problems and pains in the neck.. infact, didnt people on this very forum warn you of such hassles when buying a pc from some OEM company?im sure they did... i wont say those words im dying to say tho.you can install SP1 on an OEM version, i will go look if theres anything different, such as a specific DELL sp1 pack or something. i doubt it however. are you trying to install SP1 for HOME on your machine, or trying to install the PRO sp1?
