XPize uAE 2 MCE BETA 1

Posted (edited)

Ok guys, Beta 1 ready. Things to have into account:

1) Download only if you're going to contribute to the bughunting. Don't waste our bandwidth.

2) XPize Settings needs .NET Framework to run. Download it here

3) Please be informative when reporting bugs / suggestions (Windows version, language, file, resource, etc...)

4) I will release a Luna (wizards images and custom visual style)) version and a lite version (no 128x128 icons) when all bugs are fixed.

5) Uninstal previous version of XPize before installing this one.l

***USAGE: Post-install ; Silent (/S) ; I386 integration ; nLite***

Silent switch: /S (this switch is case sensitive)

Example:

ECHO.
ECHO Installing XPize uAE
ECHO Please wait...
start /wait %systemdrive%\Install\XPize\XPize.exe /S

You can also create an XPized Windows CD using the I386 Patching Feature, which also has silent switches support. Example:

xpize.exe /S /mode=i386 /source=C:\XPCD\I386 /dest=C:\Users\XPero\Desktop

or (in the case that the path has spaces, you need to surround the switch with " ")

xpize.exe /S /mode=i386 /source=C:\XPCD\I386 "/dest=C:\Many Users\XPero Rulez\Desktop"

Note 1: The order of the switches is not relevant.

Note 2: /source and /dest are only available when used with /mode=i386

Note 3: All the switches can be used in the normal way (not silent). They will change the default values.

Note 4: /mode switch supports this two values: i386 (i386 patching) or normal

Thanks Xpero!

Downloaded and installed without slipstreaming i386 and all changes seem to be working well.

Could you help to change the folder icons in the registry editor? These really look awful and remind more of 16 color Win95.

Good job!! :thumbup

yup i can confirm that.. i too have the same problem..using windows xp build 2600 with sp2 english..

when u right click on a button and u get a popup menu saying what's this? when u click on it .. it will give a error that winhelp32.exe is corrupt..replacing that file with the original file in the windows directory fixes the problem..

so i think there is something wrong with the winhlp32.exe fle in the xpize build..

I have help removed with nLite, so I cant reproduce the error. If in the next Beta the problem persists, I will remove that file from the installer.

I installed the Beta on my current running system. In the startmenu I found the new Settings tool for changing the icon size. I played with it, but now I got 32*32 pixel as before. But now my problem. After 10 chars of the linkname or appname windows hides the filename and puts in ".." instead. How can I change this??? The appname "jv16 PowerTools" once was in 1 line. Now it takes 2, for example. Help me!!! PLS
