Thanks for placing the text in my language. The problem really happens, but it is somento in windows Brazilian. I do not import myself for having one windows in English. One more time thanks for the aid ;)

Atenção, se você possue Windows Brasileiro como eu e quer instalar a atualização U891711, não instale ela diretamente, senão seu Windows ao reiniciar, aparecerá a mensagem que o User.exe está faltando e vai desligar o Windows. Faça assim, extraia os arquivos User.exe e user32.dll, reinicie em modo MS-DOS, e copie o user.exe na pasta Windows e o arquivo user32.dll na pasta Windows\System. Reinicie, alguma coisa do seu Windows pode ficar em inglês, no meu caso eu não ligo, porém lembre-se que é a única saída para instalar essa atualização. E outra coisa, faça download da versão em Inglês que é mais fácil de entender. Fiquem com Deus... :thumbup

Mdgx for SCANFRAG.EXE i change the icons for

BOOTEDIT.EXE/SREDIT.EXE because the look old and dry

SREDIT.exe icon change with xpsp3res.dll/Icon 2000

BOOTEDIT.exe icon change with shell32.dll/ICON 308

both dll files come from WinXP.

here they are i change them both all you have to do is re-add them.Thanks

2. GDI .ANI exploit described in MS07-017 *does* affect 9x Oses.

Until now, U891711 was the only fix available, but that was just another TSR taking up memory and CPU cycles [temporary fix]:

MDGx, ask the anonymous author if he has time to patch the USER.EXE & USER32.DLL files for Win98 FE and WinME and implement the MS07-017 security fixes into Win98fe & WinME. I like to dump the U891711 TSR files on my Win98fe and WinME machines and use the updated user.exe/user32.dll files for these OSes.

I am quite curious as to the origin of all those build 3250 files in your Media Player 9 upgrade package. I can't trace their origin to anything I have.

OK, thanks.

many but not all of the wmp9 dlls are build 3250 from xp sp2. the setup_wm.exe file build 3250 is not included in the wmp9 update rollup as that version doesn't work under win98/me so I stuck with build 2980 of that file.

thanks for win9x version of the nvdia driver (NV8269.EXE), but got a installation problem.

system: win98se german, 1gb ram, nforce 3 board, Geforce 5700 AGP, uSP2.1, nvidia driver 53.06

-> tried to install NV8269.EXE -> stops in process with message 'setup was unable to read the following registry value: system\currentcontrolset\services\class\display000\default\mode Installation will be terminated'

-> failed installation DiD NOT remove all remainings, uninstall entry remains with a 'pci managment driver'??? (AGP driver? PCIEXPRess driver?)

-> removed all GFX drivers per uninstall and remainings by hand, registrycleaner, set GFX to 'standard pci driver'

-> tried again to install NV8269.EXE -> failed again , removed again all stuff and installed 53.06 :/

Please download again and install this 5-28-2007 revised driver [14.5 MB]:
