rendrag Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Alright, so this isn't a piracty thread or nothing, but I need some advice...I just bought the new Green Day album, and, as I like to do with all my CDs, I want to rip the tracks I like to my hard drive. That way I can listen to them at any time, and make mixes and whatever.now I've always used Exact Audio Copy before and never had any problems. EAC sees the tracks there, but when I make a MP3, the file is completely blank... no song. I'm using the LAME encoder, but it's not that because I've ripped just a WAV and it's blank too. What do you guys use to rip MP3s now that the labels are putting copy protection on it? Any other suggestions for me?
SiMoNsAyS Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 maybe some type of copy protection i've ever heard.try other ripping software like musicmatch jukebox, or the classics wmp10 and winamp
prathapml Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Holding down Shift/Ctrl when the CD is inserted sometimes helps.Otherwise, just use some **** old ripping software to rip from the disk - that usually does it. (the old rippers simply don't even *KNOW* that they should supposedly not be able to rip "encrypted" tracks)
nateklomp Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Tried WMP10? M$ finally built in the option to rip to MP3 (without making you pay $20 for an "addon").
sven Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 if its completely copy protected, get a cd player, a male to male 3.5 mm cable, and record directly off the cd player using your favorite audio program
prathapml Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Yes, but that's analog!MMJB 4 has ripped any number of those so-called protected CDs.... (clue off )
cestpaspossible Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Hello,You can install Anydvd and you will have access to the opendisc track for example.Works for me
XtremeMaC Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 well i've been using nero as my music ripper, i've lame codec installed in there, but i dunno about copy protection, though i'm sure alcohol 120% can handle those so go on to http://www.alcohol-soft.com and try the trial version...
