Update KB889911 in list of prerequisites of many wmp updates. I don't think it's a good idea

exclude it.

How are you get to know that the wmploc.dll include in wmp10? Do you have a list of

wmp10 files? I also would like to have it :) WinXp media center is windows xp with many media

additions (disk 1 - windows xp, disk 2 - additions). This file can be placed at disk2.

For the time being I don't think KB910393 update needed.

Ok then, can you PM me the code of this last post (so I can Cut & Paste in the first page).

I don't have time to go thru all the latest post, Is this all I should add to the first page (and replace the older Non-Critical hotfixes) or do I keep the old NON-Critical hotfixes posted by other members as well?

I sent the list to you.

@m1m1m1m101 make sure your switches are corrected you currently have /quie /norestart /nobackup for a large portion of your fixes. it should be /quiet (you forgot the t) personally i think your switches so acctualy be

/Q /O /N /Z instead. its shorter and very effective. I love how you have added direct links for the downloads.

/Q (Uses quiet mode. Shows no user interface.)

/O (Overwrites OEM files without prompting.)

/N (Does not back up files for removing updates.)

/Z (Does not restart the computer after the installation is completed.)

Also perhaps you should add these to Optional Fixes

KB909520 - Description of the software update for Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider

KB Article - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909520

KB909993 - Windows Media Connect 2.0

KB Article - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;909993

(maybe add this too since it shows up on update?)

KB829019 - Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)

And maybe even add to the list since it is a required download? Even if we all hate it :-P

KB892130 - Windows Genuine Advantage Tool

Have the most complete list on the web :)

Love what you have done with helping to update the hotfix page!!!

First of all:

Thanks, I'm only public the work that I do for myself.

If list of know updates will grow such rate, I'm fear, The Web not endure so many ms bugs splat.gif

/quie is a typo, /quiet is right variant. I get all switches running update with "/?" command.

I correct it in last posts (I see that Incroyable HULK found this error before post updates).

/Q /N /Z switches is a old style format switches for updates with hotfix.exe engine. Updates,

that I posted have a update.exe engine. /Q /N /Z switches is currently supported, but in future

they will not work. Microsoft recommend to use new format of switches, and in help command old

style switches are absent.

KB909520, KB909993. I haven't this hotfix and I doesn't know which switch need for them.

If you want to send it to Incroyable HULK, below the part of code:

KB829019 Microsoft Deploying .NET Applications Lifecycle Guide

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 package not seems like the KB829019 hotfix. And in APPLIES TO section

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 present. I think Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is not a hotfix, it'a program.

.NET Framework technology will be integrated in Windows Vista, and now many programs use it. Perhaps

.NET Framework 2.0 must be add in title (MS WINDOWS XP PRO SP2 - (35) WITH Windows Media Player 10 &

MSN Messenger 7 installed), because we don't post updates for 1.1 version. I use only v 2.0 but i

heard that some programs, writed for 1.1 version don't correct work with v 2.0. It's a difficult

question for now what we must to do with it. I would prefer to wait until most serious bug's

of 2.0 version will be eliminate, and than point it as basic.

KB892130 Windows Genuine Advantage Tool. For this update the good place is in other/optional section.

It's really don't do something usefull asthanos.gif. I don't use winupdate and don't need this update. But as far as

I know this update need to install IE7 beta (that i don't want to use also). So after some time it

must be placed in critical. Now i can't say anymore because they delete the KB Article

(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;892130), and on ms site this no more info.
