Vash-Kun Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 Ok, I followed all the directions, and things seem to work as planned, but during my install, I get a weird "This version of Windows Media is incompatible with this version of windows" message that brings things to a halt until I click on "cancel". I do have WMP removed with nLite, is that causing it?
prathapml Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 I was asked about the below, and thought it better to post it in the thread as well, so more people benefit:What's the difference between Nero Enterprise Edition and Ultra Edition? The Ultra is actually the best version for most individual users - Ultra has everything that the other (lower-priced) versions have and more. The enterprise edition of nero has all features of Ultra, plus the following - enterprise edition is better if you have 2 CD-writer drives. Because the enterprise edition will let you write to multiple CD/DVDs at once, and also is compatible with NeroNET (write CDs over the network). The Ultra version does not have these 2 features.

evilvoice Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 @ddShadow, good find...I almost always set those through the app...but its gonna be nice to not have to do that anymore...and whats funny...those are the exact ones I set, nothing less, nothing more (except the new lead out one...cuz havent installed the new version)@simonsays...guess I havent said this in this thread...but nice howto...one thing...you might want to think about adding the first post to the stickied application switches, or something like that...I always use this method...and Im sure most people would like to use this method...as far as I know, its universal...unless nero changes something in their silent installs...im just thinking of how to keep it at the top for new people coming in the future...
SiMoNsAyS Posted October 10, 2004 Author Posted October 10, 2004 @evilvoice well i've thought a lot on this. i think the best is just leave this thread until the official release. in the current 6.6 version, most of the tools are "downdated" and i think every1 knows that there is a known bug with the keys.probably the installer will use the same method so this guide should help, but until 18th we best just leave the thing. good luck to all of you and god bless us

Because the enterprise edition will let you write to multiple CD/DVDs at once, and also is compatible with NeroNET (write CDs over the network). The Ultra version does not have these 2 features. That's odd, because I have a retail copy of Ultra Edition (never even heard about Enterprise edition until this forum) and I have both NeroNet and the option to burn to multiple recorders. This is what it says on Nero's website about Enterprise Edition:Nero Enterprise additionally includes the following features:Make a bootable EFI or Data CD/DVD enabling a timely system recoveryGenerate CD/DVDs to exchange data between Windows, Linux and EFIFull Nero CD/DVD data recording capabilitiesCreate FAT boot images on-the-flyWindows version available with native 64 Bit support and 32 Bit in emulation modeSupports full range of optical devices CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM
prathapml Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Thanks for the info.BTW, Windows version available with native 64 Bit support and 32 Bit in emulation modeWould that mean Ultra edition can't run on 64-bit windows? Can't be so, because as we know, its the same installer/executables. So ultra has that 64-bit feature of enterprise edition too! (or maybe not - haven't tested latest releases of ultra).
Jito463 Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Well, it did say that Ultra *CAN* run on AMD 64's, just not the Intel 64-bit if I understood it correctly.
battleangel3222 Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Hi I am getting an error. After running my newly made file thanks to your help, i get an error report from Windows that says NeroWEbEngine Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience.AppName: setup.exe blah blah blah....
totoymola Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Hi I am getting an error. After running my newly made file thanks to your help, i get an error report from Windows that says NeroWEbEngine Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience.I had that error once, when I tested my UA disc on VMWare. But on my machine, and on Microsoft Virtual PC, it works great. Oh well.. Maybe it is because VMWare has a default hard disk size of 4gig, and expands as you install more programs (unless you allocate the disk space first). Try using Virtual PC, or if you prefer VMWare, try using the advanced option when creating a virtual machine.By the way, Im still having problems with the shortcuts. But its ok.
r0sWell Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 i have an error when installing my Nero 6600 SFX :it tells me that "an error happened in the extraction".just below : "error: 3""the access path cannot be found""please reboot your computer or try again".i reboot but i still have the pb.i followed the tutorial from SiMoNsAyS poted in the 1st page.anyone has this problem ?
Astalavista Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 for those of you having the demo issue like me.I come up with a work around to the problemput this into your cleanup.cmdRD /S /Q "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Nero\Nero 6 Demothis will delete the demo from startupand add this to your runonceEX.cmdreg add %Key%\090 /VE /D "Nero Ultra Edition [Ver: 6.6.0.0.0]" /freg add %Key%\090 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\Nero\Reloaded.exe" /freg add %Key%\090 /V 2 /D "%CDROM%\Software\Nero\neroshortcut.exe" /fneroshortcut.exe will add to the startup folder "Enterprise Edition"I hope that the official release will address this issue. if not, this works fine for me.neroshortcut.exe
DigeratiPrime Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Awesome Stuff! What I also did is replaced the Nero SmartStart.exe (v6.6) with the old one from v6.3.1.25. Personally I think it looks better, but its also 2MB smaller, wonder why... Seems to work fine, as all it does -that I am aware of- is link to the other exe's.btw, I also got 40.4MB for the reduced Nero v6.6, not complaining though. lolFYI: With BEST Compression and SOLID archive and the OLD SmartStart.exe I got a 34MB sfx archive.
gai-jin Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 to do this using nero, nve, and npm, I end up with 3 sfx that are larger than the original install, due to common files bieng included in each one. Can I include the common files in just nero, and leave it out of the other 2?Gai-jin
