Beginner programmer
On learning VB: Does Mono count as the same learning experience? I understand that windowforms are not quite there yet, but cost is a huge factor for me. I'm on the Piratrol patch and don't want to download a illegit VB.

How to silently install Yahoo Messenger 6
Actually, they used to, but the new 6.x series just plows right over them. I've never gotten YIM to install silently after the 5.x series. Anyone else have any luck?

[How To]: Nero 6.6.0.0
Ok, I followed all the directions, and things seem to work as planned, but during my install, I get a weird "This version of Windows Media is incompatible with this version of windows" message that brings things to a halt until I click on "cancel". I do have WMP removed with nLite, is that causing it?

bin cue software
A free and easy solution would be Burnatonce. http://www.burnatonce.com I use it to burn all my bin/cue and iso format disks. Works with most any drive. And if it doesn't, you're out nothing.

How To Test CD?
And virtual machine testing requores a nice, beefy system unless you are very, very patient. Those of us running castaway machines from old jobs just have to reinstall every day and see what works.

yahoo messenger latest version download anyone?
I'm having problems getting switches to work on this. does it need extraction or something?

WinINSTALL
could you then, in theory, make a giant .msi with apps, tweaks, the whole shebagibang, compress it if need be, and just install that? Kind of the monolithic kernel approach?

Pre-pin to new start menu?
I'll give it a shot. But when dealing with a decrepit p2-400, there is no Virtual Machine. There's "Freah install and p*** off the wife again" lol

Pre-pin to new start menu?
Again my search fu fails me. Where do I look to customize my newstyle start menu pin-to items unattendedly? Outside of a clean install and reg shot, I just can't find what I need. Should I just learn to stop worrying and love the Quicklaunch Bar?

Yahoo silent install
the /s switch stopped working. I don't mean something changed, I mean that after changing other stuff in RunOnceEX, and quad-checking the lines AND downloading the brand new full version of Yahoo, it won't install silently. am I retarded?

Moving Documents and Settings
I've read the hive guides and they make less sense now than when I thought it was where honey comes from. If I do that, would I need to prepare 2 sets of RunOneceEx? One to install programs, once, and one to move Docs and Settings, per user? Pardon me if I come off like an absolute dolt, but this is the ONE issue that I haven;t been able to crack no matter what I try. I'm trying to convince a friend that partitioning the drive into a Wondows and Files type setup is a good idea. I'm ofering to do a custom setup disk for him, but he refuses to just suck it up and use the "stuff" partition as a seperate drive, he has 5 different user profiles. Moving them all with TweakXP per install would kill me. Thanks guys.

Moving Documents and Settings
Ok, tiny brainstorm here.... If you relocate the My Documents and shared folders physically to another drive, then reinstall WITHOUT using the winnt.sif setting, then use a reg file to redirect the shell folders in RunOnceEx, that should work for a single user, right? If it does, how can I get that to run once on the first login for EVERY user? I know it's the combo of winnt.sif and auto user creation causing the double folder problem, but solving this per user is causing me fits.

Moving Documents and Settings
But how do you tell Windows to run with the user profiles in the folder if it's on a different drive? I'm getting the famous "user.PCNAME" folders. If I skip the auto user creation step, and create users after install, will they default to the properly named folders? I'm aiming to not have to back up the contents of the profiles each install. What am I missing?

Install hangs at 12 minutes
@jrzycrim I think I just had random misnumberings. I'm not cut out for actual programming, as even batch files cause me fits. But then, learning from websites never works for me, except here. Maybe a "programming n00b" thread in another forum with suggestions from seasoned veterans? So far, this is the most capable memberbase I've seen without having to wade through 1000 12 year old kids.
