OK, I've got them all. Time for playtime B)

And now for some good news...

If you take the following 13 files from the cabs downloaded from the image above, compress them and put the files in your i386 folder (replacing the old ones), Windows Update v5 works as if everything was installed.

cdm.dll

iuengine.dll

wuapi.dll

wuau.adm

wuauclt.exe

wuauclt1.exe

wuaucpl.cpl

wuaueng.dll

wuaueng1.dll

wuauhelp.chm

wucltui.dll

wups.dll

wuweb.dll

well that's neat and easy to do

If nobody else posts it, I'll be including it in my forthcoming XPSP2 Update Package.

When are you releasing the update SP2 pack?

As soon as my HighMAT testers confirm that it's working properly.

EDIT: And I did some math today. The pack is a 4.95MB download. Unpacked into the i386 directory, it adds a total of 1.85MB to the total size of the CD.

Oh, and for another sneak peak, here's what's in it:

##############################################################################################
What's included in this pack?
KB831240 - HighMAT CD Writing Wizard
KB873374 - Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool (Registry Entry)
KB884020 - Connecting to IP addresses in loopback address range erratic in SP2 (hotfix)
-Patched to allow maximum of 100 simultaneous connections
KB885626 - Computer stops responding after restarting to complete SP2 installation (hotfix)
Macromedia Shockwave Flash 7.0.19.0 ActiveX Control (replaces version 6.0.79.0 on CD)
Microsoft Calculator Plus (replaces calc.exe on CD)
Microsoft Remote Desktop Client 5.2.3790.0 (replaces version 5.1.2600.2180 on CD)
MSXML 4.0 SP2 (includes KB832414 hotfix as well)
 MSXML 5.0
Windows Script 5.6.8825 (replaces version 5.6.8820 on CD)
Windows Update 5.4.3790.2182 (replaces version 5.5.3790.2180 on CD)

Other changed files on Windows CD
makecab.exe (version included with SP2 messes up file dates)
sfc_os.dll (patched to allow disabling of WFP with SFCSetting registry entry)
-WFP remains enabled by default, I'm only providing the patched file so it can be disabled
sfcfiles.dll (patched to allow deletion of protected folders in Program Files)
  shutdown.exe (Sysinternals PsShutdown)
uxtheme.dll (patched to allow unsigned themes)

Extra files included in this pack (copied to system32 directory)
  cabarc.exe
  cmdow.exe
  deluser.exe
  modifyPE.exe
  qchain.exe
  qfecheck.exe

Extra registry tweaks included in this pack
Fix for DSO Exploit that Spybot S&D complains about

@RyanVM

I don't know about the size you wrote...

In my case I have it CABed & RARed as Jito463 did, & it's only 1.10 MB...

*slaps his head*

Did you even bother to READ what I wrote?!?!?!?! The size I quoted was for an entire update pack, of which the updated WU5 files are a single part! Hello, there was a giant code block right under that saying everything included in the 4.85MB pack .

*slaps his head*

forgive my father, cause I've sin... :}

:P. For what it's worth, I meant that as I was slapping my own head in frustration, not slapping yours.

And your comment was just a bit of a boiling over point for me. It's becoming an epidemic on these boards that people don't bother to READ before posting, it only ends up irritating the better contributers and (in some cases) drives them away.

Nothing personal, that much I can assure you :)
