When i insert Windows XP SP2 Slipstreamed CD, Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP screen comes up. I click on Perform additional tasks and then when i click on Install .NET Framework nothing happens. It should start the installation when i click on it but nothing happens. So what could be the reason why its not installing from the CD and how could i install .NET Framework from my Windows XP SP2 Slipstreamed CD?
j4ever Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Download the latest .Net 1.1 redist:http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/a...06/dotnetfx.exeRename dotnetfx.exe to setup.exeCreate a folder in your XPCD directory called DOTNETFXPlace the setup.exe in the DOTNETFX folder. Now the button will work and install the latest .net 1.1

msbhi22 Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 hi every one i 'hve come after a long time . well now no one is aware the Dot Net frame work is avaible on the Windows Xp Professional SP2 cd.after splistreaming Windows Xp service pack2 we get diffrent folders. For ex:the new ones added are cmpnents.in this folder there is netfx i386 directory and in this directory lies the hidden .NetFramework scaled down version. One can only see this folder after successfull intergeartion of wxpsp2 . So no need to download the fileJust decompress the filename netfx and install the framework. Ms still has made a mistake that it doe'nt execute when clicking on setup.exe app.

Ms still has made a mistake that it doe'nt execute when clicking on setup.exe app.In this location: XPCD\cmpnents\netfx\i386, i found a file called netfx and i don't know whether its a zip file or a cab file.Should i extract all the files that are in netfx.zip/cab and then once extracted where should i click to install .NET Framework? Also should i extract netfx.zip/cab in the same folder as XPCD\cmpnents\netfx\i386?
DisabledTrucker Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 quick question what about integrating dotnet2, is it possible to replace what is in the netfx folder with an extracted v2 and install it from there? Or do we still want to stay away from v2?
takuma2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Author Posted August 17, 2004 Once i extract all the files that are in netfx.zip/cab and then when they are extracted where should i click to install .NET Framework, i mean which file should i click on?
sleepnmojo Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 the cmpnts\netfx\ is meant for mediactr and tabletpc editions. It will only install 1.0, not 1.1 which j4ever explained how to do.If you want to use the netfx.cab, then I suggest you start herehttp://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=154767
nolookingca Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 So I still have to put my Dot-Net installer in the $OEM$ folder?
prathapml Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 So I still have to put my Dot-Net installer in the $OEM$ folder? No!sleepnmojo above, has given the link to the thread that has instructions for this.
j4ever Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 DOTNETFX does not go into your $OEM$ folder. it goes in your root directory of your cd. If you extracted your cd to a folder called XPCD then you would copy the dotnetfx folder into your XPCD folder.
