Hello to all MyPal users,

I want to upgrade my MyPal 68.13.3b version to a newer one, but it seems some addons aren't working in newer versions.

Some Addons which worked in 68.13.3b but not in the newer 4b and 5b:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cookie-quick-manager/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-manager-plus-for-firefox/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/download-statusbar-webext/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rss-html/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/indicatetls/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/http-indicator/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/sixindicator/

Is this a known problem?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Mypal 68.13.5b does not recognise the system proxy settings under Windows XP which have been set in the proxy settings of IE 8 although the option Use system proxy settings under Network Settings is enabled. I tested this with ProxHTTPSProxy. Can anyone confirm this? :dubbio:

Yes. After i publish the new version, and then sse version, supposed next year i begin to move javascript to 91 version, i think this whats is very important.

You may to proove me otherwise

Developing the JavaScript engine is of course a top priority in order to improve or restore compatibility with modern websites. :thumbup But everything that has to do with time zones and local time does not work for a very long time. Many extensions need this feature. Maybe, you can reactivate or better re-implement it in the meantime only if the effort is manageable, of course. :dubbio:

Pictures are unnecessary at all, i understand that here is easy to put the picture, but i consider this is a spam.

So everybody please post the picture only when explicitly asked.

@a8s

I took clean 13.5 and tried to reproduce the error, but failed.

May be you have network problem and actually get corrupt file.

Do right click on the blue button ans select "save link as" to save the addon file, then try install from file.

Also what happens when you enable the addon after import from an older 3b profile?

@Feodor2
As seen in picture 2, with "save link as" the xpi also isn't installing via drag&drop.
As seen in picture 3, after import from an old 3b profile it shows "(disabled)" in the title and i can not activate it, only "Remove".

@a8s Actually this is not seen and not obvious,  now i do reproduce the error.

Hey i confused with tab_mix_plus so tab_manager_plus installs good via drag&drop too, so we get back to the point of this is error does not reproduce.

Meanwhile you can install the addon from the mozilla site without error there. Did you try this?

I found the problem!

After overwriting with the newest version there was a forgotten config.js file in the folder. In there was a patch for unsigned addons.

This patch interferred with newer versions because there was probably a change in the source code from 3b to 4b.

I'm very sorry for all the trouble!

P.S. I found a small annoyance in the title-bar of the XP-skin after changing to fullscreen-mode:

Sorry for the pictures but I think they're needed here.

@a8s If you're going to use a hack like this, you should also read the notes. albert.gif Here is a quotation taken from the creator's notes:

Quote

In the presence of these two files, there is a negative effect - it is impossible to install/update some extensions and Firefox gives an error "This add-on could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt." If this error occurs, close Firefox, delete these two files (pre-make a backup of files!) And run Firefox. Install the extension, close Firefox and return these files back to the folders. (translated)

And if you had carried out a new installation straight away from scratch, as I advised you to do in this post, you would have immediately realised that the error was in your configuration. smilie_denk_24.gif
