Dietmar Posted March 8 Posted March 8 @reboot12 Interesting, if one could change this in the Default Bios settings, that always all can be seen in Bios, nothing should be "hidden". I remember from my tests with the N100, that there where 3 different places, where Bios entries are stored. One of them I think was "Default". But anyway, any edit of Bios is a risk. And even when you have a backup of your Bios and you can flash this back, I remember 2 different AMD boards, where I spend weeks to put them back to life again via normal Bios flash with EEpromer, even I can flash their Bios without errors Dietmar

Dietmar Posted March 8 Posted March 8 @reboot12 Do you know the link to the webside, where you can download the Bios for AIMB-786 Dietmar
reboot12 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 1 minute ago, Dietmar said: where you can download the Bios for AIMB-786 I couldn't download it anywhere either, but I obtained it via e-mail from intermediaries - from the motherboard seller and from the Advantech distributor in Poland - elmark.com.pl
Dietmar Posted March 8 Posted March 8 @reboot12 Is this the Bios V5 that you send to me and how can I flash it Dietmar
Dave-H Posted March 8 Posted March 8 We've now had two instances of multiple apparently identical posts from two different users. Is this a forum glitch?

Dietmar Posted March 8 Posted March 8 @Dave-H I try to upload the post, but nothing happens. Then I close the MSFN Webside and load my post up again, so this happens Dietmar
Dietmar Posted March 8 Posted March 8 @reboot12 Bios V5 with MD5 of the pure Binary A03A21ADEB9BAD0AEC8BF38E4087381B Dietmar
reboot12 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) @Dietmar But you don't have to update somehow - maybe through FPT just only bios region - I'm not sure. Along with the bios, I received the following information via email: "Please remember one important thing - when programming this BIOS using a programmer, the MAC address for LAN1 will be deleted. The MAC address for this network is saved in the BIOS. It is programmed with the eepudate program." LAN1 is i219 card Be careful. Before you write this BIOS, make a backup of the current one, preferably using the CH341A programmer and also via FPT !!! Edited March 8 by reboot12

Dietmar Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) @reboot12 How do you flash your Bios? Just copy and paste the original Mac Adress to its place via Winhex in the new Bios before flash? Dietmar PS: I think about to keep my own Bios. But I read this 3 times out and I want to change to ME-disable and HII enable in its "Default" settings and flash it back. Because I dont know, what is NVRam and where the Default values are stored I change them all in once to the same at the 3 places with Winhex. Question is, if the fpd.efi has a checksum test or something like this for the Bios file. Edited March 8 by Dietmar
reboot12 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) 52 minutes ago, Dietmar said: How do you flash your Bios? I don't remember - I think I already buy had it flashed, but I also wanted to have a version without any data, e.g. without DMI, NVRAM that's why I also wrote an e-mail to the distributor to send me the bios. Simply try flash using fpt.efi - maybe this tool not erase current MAC ? fpt -f bios.bin fpt -bios -f bios.bin - program only bios region but I don't know if this is OK if update bios - maybe this is only used for mod exactly same version bios e.g. if you change logo or something https://oldrigrevive.com/software/intel-fpt/ Edited March 8 by reboot12
Dietmar Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) @reboot12 I try to edit this Bios from you for the AIMB-786 before flashing. I search with UEFItool and Winhex for the String for Mac of the lan device i219. And also I try to edit the "Default" Bios setting. If I cant flash after this with FPT, I will use EEPROMER. So lets start fun to look where everything stands in Bios Dietmar Edited March 8 by Dietmar
