WATCH as @COParksWildife Officer Travis Sauder massages the chest of the mule deer buck to stimulate it until drugs reversing the tranquilizer take effect. Once awake, the buck remains groggy but eventually limped off completing this #wildlife @rescue

The mess got worse when CPW Officer Travis Sauder darted the buck to sedate it and it tried to flee. Its antlers sent a vase of flowers crashing. Once it calmed down, Sauder treated cuts it suffered. Then he and CPW biologist Ty Woodward carried it outside for release. 3/4

Eventually the deer woke up.

I suppose he's lucky there were no avid hunters in the house.

Equitherapy: healing your soul in contact with the horse

PSYCHO - This care approach uses the animal as a mediator to reduce stress and anxiety. Report in a center in the heart of the Dordogne.

It is a pretty area of 22 hectares, green and soothing, where you come across donkeys, Indian ducks and above all magnificent horses.

Among them, Fancy, a 6-year-old mare, works alongside Laurence Béghin, horse therapist, to try to relieve clients attracted by the promises of this particular therapy.

Welcome to the Natifaence center in Baneuil, about twenty kilometers from Bergerac in the Dordogne.

“Our approach is mind-body.

We work through non-verbal language, with the help of the animal which feels the person and the environment, without filter”

, explains Laurence Béghin.

The exercises given in the carousel or the round pen are adapted to the problem and the emotional state of the individual.

An anxious or distressed subject will, for example, practice touch or slow breathing in contact with the animal.

A person who lacks self-confidence will learn to put the horse in motion.

She will have to mobilize her whole body for this.

I remember, when I was sick, I appreciated very much the presence of a black spider, on the ceiling in the corner, in front of me... its calmness pleased me very much... my friend spider!
It's the proof, that the presence of every animal is very beneficial for the healing...

Interstellar asteroid 'Oumuamua? Live* tracker: Where is interstellar asteroid ‘Oumuamua? Live* tracker

The world was caught by surprise as interstellar asteroid ʻOumuamua visits our solar system. It is the first object known to arrive from deep space and do a loop around the sun. The Asteroid travels at a speed of 61,304 (17). It appears to come from another star. The name ʻOumuamua is Hawaiian for scout. See the Oumuamua live tracker here.

Where is Asteroid 1I/ʻOumuamua now?

ʻOumuamua is currently --,--- from Earth, getting away from Earth every second.

Asteroid Oumuamua was discovered in 2017 by Robert Weryk using the Pan-STARRS telescope at Hawaii. It passed through or Solar System close to the Sun and there was some confusion whether it was an actual alien spacecraft. However the SETI institute discovered no radio transmissions from 1I/ʻOumuamua. It appears to just have wandered into our solar system as it’s orbit does not revolve around the sun. The Sun’s gravity however has a huge impact on the trajectory of this interstellar object and it is leaving in a completely different direction than where it arived from. Its speed relative to Earth is --,--- (--,---).

Asteroid ʻOumuamua passed ‘close’ by Earth on it’s path, and astronomers were able to take some observations and measurements. However as the object was still 24 Million km (15 Million Mi) away it was very difficult to get any certainty on the composition of this interstellar rock. Scientists have been able to verify 1I/ʻOumuamua is a very thin long asteroid. It’s origins are still debated amongst scientists are there are no obvious candidates in nearby stars. ...

Perfectly preserved dinosaur embryo found in China

Researchers said the egg was probably preserved by a sudden mudslide that buried it, protecting it from scavengers

Scientists have announced the discovery of a perfectly preserved dinosaur embryo that was preparing to hatch from its egg, just like a chicken.

The embryo was discovered in Ganzhou in southern China and researchers estimate it is at least 66 million years old.

It is believed to be a toothless theropod dinosaur, or oviraptorosaur, and has been named Baby Yingliang.

Researcher Dr Fion Waisum Ma said it is "the best dinosaur embryo ever found in history".

The discovery has also given researchers a greater understanding of the link between dinosaurs and modern birds. The fossil shows the embryo was in a curled position known as "tucking", which is a behaviour seen in birds shortly before they hatch.

"This indicates that such behaviour in modern birds first evolved and originated among their dinosaur ancestors," Dr Ma told the AFP news agency.

Oviraptorosaurs, which means "egg thief lizards," were feathered dinosaurs that lived in what is now Asia and North America during the Late Cretaceous period - between 100 million to 66 million years ago.

Paleontologist Prof Steve Brusatte who was also part of the research team, tweeted that it was "one of the most stunning dinosaur fossils" he had ever seen, and that the embryo was on the brink of hatching.... ...

Explore - From Space to Sound

pix-large-985x350-sonification.jpg?itok=

Ever wondered what the music of the spheres would sound like? Hubble brings us cosmic sights, but these astronomical marvels can be experienced with other senses as well. Through data sonification, the same digital data that gets translated into images is transformed into sound.

Elements of the image, like brightness and position, are assigned pitches and volumes. Each translation below begins on the left side of the image and moves to the right. No sound can travel in space, but sonifications provide a new way of experiencing and conceptualizing data. Sonifications allow the audience, including blind and visually impaired communities, to “listen” to astronomical images and explore their data.

Archaeologists Hunting For Cleopatra's Tomb Uncover a "Geometric Miracle" Tunnel

Michelle Starr  11/18/2022

Underneath a temple in the ancient ruined city of Taposiris Magna on the Egyptian coast, archaeologists have uncovered a vast, spectacular tunnel that experts are referring to as a "geometric miracle".

During ongoing excavations and exploration of the temple, Kathleen Martinez of the University of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and colleagues uncovered the structure 13 meters (43 feet) below the ground. The 2-meter tall tunnel had been hewn through an incredible 1,305 meters (4,281 feet) of sandstone.

Its design, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, is remarkably similar to the 1,036-meter Tunnel of Eupalinos – a 6th century BCE aqueduct on the Greek island of Samos. Often referred to as a marvel of engineering, the conduit was unprecedented in design and construction in its day.

While the Taposiris Magna tunnel isn't without equal, its engineering is nonetheless just as impressive.

Parts of the Taposiris Magna tunnel are submerged in water, though putting aside its resemblance to the Eupalinos Tunnel, its purpose is currently unknown.

Martinez, who has been working in Taposiris Magna since 2004 in search of the lost tomb of Cleopatra VII, believes that the tunnel could be a promising lead. Previously, the excavations have yielded clues that seem to point to the famous queen and the last of the Ptolemies. ...
