Hello,

I'm looking for the option to reorder tabs of the same group on Windows 11.

It has been asked before on the forums. It was suggested here in May 2024 to use Taskbar2 alpha. It can be downloaded from here, correct? It's the latest version?

I also see that in September 2024 a StartAllBack test version was made for this. Is this the preferable solution over Taskbar2 alpha?

Both solutions are quite dated, so I was wondering if this is the latest info regarding this requested feature, or whether new info is available.

@Alloyd It's expected, as SAB doesn't hook into processes in administrative context.

I've asked the dev of Block Start Menu and Hosts Windhawk mod to include both CrossDeviceResume.exe and CrossDeviceService.exe in the mod.

Win11 Experimental (Dev), currently 26300.8758 (but with the last build or two also). v3.9.23 (possibly also v3.9.22). Started 2-3 weeks ago.

A few days after booting (I boot maybe every 4-7 days, so I've seen this happen about 3 times now), I'm seeing Start/Run do this. It's new behavior this month, but the position of the taskbar, my color scheme (dark), nor any SaB settings have been changed for a very long time (not this year).

You can actually see all the items, but only one at a time as you cursor down the list. Normally, the dropdown is not white and you can see everything right away and continually.

I can no longer press "Alt" to toggle the menu bar when I set explorer to use the Windows 7 ribbon anymore. Anyone run into similar behaviour?

1. Replace the `input.dll` and `mutb.dll` files from Windows 11 (23H2) with those from Windows 10 (19045).
2. This allows the language bar (using the desktop language bar) to be perfectly locked to the taskbar on Windows 11 (23H2); however, later versions of StartAllBack also support this.
3. The workaround from step 1 remains effective up to version 26H1, but StartAllBack version 3.7.11.4917 does not support Windows 11 (24H2).

I hope the feature allowing the language bar to be pinned to the taskbar is preserved!

For reference, here is the menu bar in question. You can toggle to hide/unhide it with "Alt" back in StartIsBack on Windows 10. Right now for Windows 11 I could not find a way to access it when using the Windows 7 ribbon.

Weren't both menu bar and Windows 7 command bar deprecated at some point in time with one of the 25H2 updates?

How does StartAllBack build the Win+X menu? Specifically, I'd like to completely remove Windows Terminal/Windows PowerShell/Command Prompt entries (which I can do on native Win+X menu by deleting the shortcuts from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\WinX, but this doesn't seem to affect StartAllBack); I also noticed that System entry is missing on some computers (specifically, my main workstation).

It was working before this happened... What kind of registry tweaks may conflict with this?

I just found out that PowerToys' Always On Top module causes that bug, when running PowerToys as administrator.

The menu bar being deprecated is absolutely possible, but that means that I am at a loss right now on how to access those settings when I want the minimal look of the Win 7 command bar.
