You need to create a shortcut for the folder like explorer.exe C:\Users\YourName\Documents So, It is easy to pin Or you can create a custom toolbar via right click on taskbar --> Toolbars --> Newtoolbar.. benben Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Hi, An issue just appeared with the position on my taskbar. So I'm using a laptop and a second monitor. The second monitor is the main screen. When using the show only taskbar on the main screen. The taskbar is only showing on my laptop. Disabling the Taskbar tool in StartAllBack and using the windows 11 default one, the taskbar goes back to the main screen. This has been working before, but I've disconnected the laptop from the monitor and only used the laptop screen as main during christmas and new year.
Uiti P. Uszer Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the new taskbar plumpness setting in SAB that you (Tihiy) have implemented it is a great setting and makes the taskbar a little bigger like I had always wanted. Edited January 7 by Uiti P. Uszer
kraai Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I wonder is there (gonna be) an option to include the systray and clock when using 'just central segment' Currently my settings are near perfect, similar to what I use on linux (KDE). The only thing missing is systray + clock, I don't like the look of separate segments. I would like it to be included or optionally in the central segment if that's possible. 1
magus99 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Hi Hope this the right place to post this. I'm a technical black hole I'm using StartAllBack to get my Taskbar back to what it used to be and it's great for that, so thanks for that. One SMALL problem I have is that the shading on the different tabs on the taskbar all look very similar to me(all shades of grey). Probably my eyesight! Is there any way to make the tab for the browser page you're actually viewing stand out a bit more from the rest of the taskbar tabs you have open? Hope this makes sense-but feel free to ask for any clarification if required. Thanks for any help
Tihiy Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 If you meant Windows 7 style in light mode, there's a variant with darkened active button https://startisback.com/Windows 7 active.msstyles though sloppy 1
magus99 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Thanks for that. I'll give that a try but, just before I do, what do you mean by: "though sloppy"? Once again, thanks for the help
Nuzza Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Would it possible to add 24 hours as a time format option for the taskbar? Currently we've got the following options: - Show Day - Show Seconds - Display as Short Date Or just simply allowing a custom format such as the following: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/datetimeapi/nf-datetimeapi-gettimeformatex#remarks https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/intl/day--month--year--and-era-format-pictures
SeaDog Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Hi Nuzza, You can change time formats in Windows settings. Open Settings > Time & language > Language & region > click on Regional format to expand it > Change formats. Choose a time format without AM and with or without a leading zero. If you want to use your own custom time format, open Run (Win+R) and run intl.cpl. Click Additional settings > Time tab and enter your custom format. Hope that helps! 2
MikeW11 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Good day, I absolutely love StartAllBack so I can have a vertical taskbar on the left in Windows 11. I've waited many years for MS to fix their mistake themselves but alas ... With StartAllBack I'm finally make the switch from W10 to W11. Two questions, in W10 (using Open-Shell Menu) the start menu opened directly under the start-button (with vertical taskbar on left side) and I could add my own folders to the menu, see attached image. In W11 with StartAllBack the menu opens besides the taskbar is there an option to change this position? Is there an option to add custom folders to the start menu like in the image? This way I have my most used programs in reach. Thanks in advance :-)
EfeOmer01 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Good afternoon, I ran into the problem that when you hover the mouse over any window, its preview opens behind any active window. In order for it to open correctly, you need to click to the taskbar. 2
etacarinae Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) Perhaps this has been asked before, but why is the bing background missing when the start menu is not activated (right) and only present when the start menu is activated (left)? Secondly, again I'm not sure if this has been asked, is it possible to add the Windows 10 Jump List style? Thanks for all your hard work over the years, @Tihiy, I've lost count how many licenses I purchased Edited January 14 by etacarinae Praise for the dev 1
sasbro97 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Hey guys I have a Windows 11 installation with StartAllBack 3.9 and I got the bug that the taskbar icons of the Windows explorer are not updating. If I open the downloads folder it is the correct icon. As well as for all other folders. But if I navigate within this window the icon won't change. What is wrong? Probably a registry entry as I have a fresh Windows 11 install but I used UnattendedWinstall which made some tweaks and probably is causing some trouble with it.
