@xpandvistafan I found a compatible ProxhttpsProxy version running on W2k without extended kernel. Unfortunately I get the error code 0x80072F05. Another problem is that the SHA1 certificate expired in 2010.

Have you installed the prerequisites to get Windows update working on Windows 2000 working again? Even before Windows Update was shut down, you still needed a few prerequisites, including, IE6, Update Rollup 1, Windows Update agent 7.4, the root certificate update, and kb2817183.

This is the version of ProxHTTPSProxy which was originally created by "whenever" for Proxomitron as a SSL Helper Program. This isn't a modified version of @heinoganda. Proxomitron issued this certificate for ProxHTTPSProxy. You have to let Proxomitron generate a new one. Anyway I don't think it will work as a replacement for @heinoganda's ProxHTTPSProxy.

PS: @heinoganda did a lot of modifications to get it working. Therefore without him probably a "mission impossible".

OK. I asked if ProxhttpsProxy version 1.1 was still available for download. Maybe then it will work. By the way, I updated the Proxomitron certificate and now the error is 0x80072F06.

I managed to get 1.3a  of ProxHTTPSProxyMII working on XP with an SHA1 certificate, but the question is, will it work on 2000.

I get this error on all websites. Which config.ini are you using?

The question is, does it actually search for updates successfully?

Unfortunately not. When searching I get error 0x80244018 and when calling the endpoint I get Access is Denied.

Try this, bypass the proxomitron. Change this line: 127.0.0.1:8080 to 127.0.0.1:8081. The endpoint loads perfectly fine on XP SP3. xR5IhAI.png

Where can I find this setting?
