jaclaz
If your SSD doesn't come with accompanying software by the manufacturer, you will need to buy a license for a Commercial Software, I believe, see: jaclaz
Stefan43
I used to have an Adata SSD with Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP2 on it. I downloaded an utility from their website (I think it only works for Adata SSD's) which was able to manually perform TRIM. It worked on Windows XP and Vista. Tripredacus
On Vista, isn't it also required to disable the automatic defrag or am I thinking of something else?

Luxman
I used XP for about 3 years on a SSD with no trim functionality. It had no effect on performance, whatsoever. Further to that, I installed Vista on the very same SSD (Intel; on which it still resides) and after installing close to 2GB of update files I ran trim via the Intel SSD toolbox program. Take a guess how long it took for the trim command to finish 'cleaning' the drive? Answer: about 1 (one) second.
HarryTri
As far as I know modern SSDs manage this issue by themselves and don't need any external "trimming".

HarryTri
I have read so but don't remember where, you can find something in Google (e.g. search for "SSDs trim necessary").
