JaKSLaP Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Hey Guys; Does anyone know which is the recommended version of DX to install for Windows 98 SE. Installing DX 9.0x will that include all previous version or do i have to install each version one by one. Thanks
Tommy Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 DirectX 9.0c will be the only version you'll need, or can install actually. You can't go backwards since the installers will tell you there is a newer version available. And if you go from old to new, the installers will just overwrite the old version. USP3 from Problemchyld also includes a version of DirectX 9.0c in it which I think might be the gaming version but I wouldn't say for sure.
submix8c Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I'll venture to say that the DX9 is *the* latest-greatest, having all available Updates included.
jumper Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 IIRC, there are versions later than DX9c that should work with KernelEx.Later versions tend to have one or two files with post-9x dependencies. Kex should be able to fix them, or we could create a USP with just the updated files that don't need patching or help from Kex.
