Laaca Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Please, advise me some program for converting video DVD discs into AVI videos. I know I can use a Mencoder for example, but do you know something more user friendly? I tried about ten programs but none worked under Windows98 (even not with KernelEx)
submix8c Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) You mean one that's "free" (as in beer), right? I googleddvd to avi "windows 98"and got a google-load of hits but don't know if "free to use forever at no charge"... Edited December 26, 2015 by submix8c
Laaca Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 Oh, my god, you really think I didn't use Google?
loblo Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 DVD Decrypter + Vidomi or FlaskMpeg should do nicely. XviD codec highly recommended. http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/http://www.videohelp.com/software/Vidomihttp://www.videohelp.com/software/FlaskMPEGhttp://www.videohelp.com/software/XviD-Codec
Laaca Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Thank you, with these suggested programs I was able to convert my DVD.But eorth to mention that Vidomi did not offer me to convert from .IFO or .VOB files so I had to use FlaskMpeG. For the first time it crashed but on the second try was the conversion successful. So we have not found the ideal solution (only one program without need of external codecs) but it is a working solution.
jumper Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) > I tried about ten programs but none worked under Windows98 (even not with KernelEx) Most video apps are compiled to use SSE instructions for speed. What cpu are you using and what are some of these programs that you would like to see working under Win98 with KernelEx? Edited December 29, 2015 by jumper
submix8c Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 DUDE!Oh, my god, you really think I didn't use Google? You did NOT say!!! You mean one that's "free" (as in beer), right? Please be more clear in your requests. Also, you were asked about your PC Specs. This will have a *lot* to do with what you can and cannot do. BTW, you "did* read the Rules, right?http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras§ion=boardrules(See #12)
