bobyteal Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) The new windows 10 update broke startisback, it crashes explorer.exe with an error on StartIsBack64.dll in the event viewer. Edit: didn't realise there was an update in February, it fixed the issue Edited June 15, 2024 by bobyteal
amnester Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 (edited) Hello! I have problems with StartIsBack v.2.9.20 on the latest builds of Windows 10 Pro 22H2_19045.5011, .5070, .5073 x64. The first time you click on the Microsoft Store shortcut in the StartIsBack... menu, the store opens - everything is fine, but the second time you click it and again - the taskbar freezes for about a minute... The same thing happens with other applications from the store. Also, when you delete or block the SearchApp.exe process, StartIsBack slows down the opening of the Start menu. On the first version of Windows 20H1_19041.1 x64, everything works fine, no problems! Edited November 23, 2024 by amnester

But 1) I can't reproduce it 2) The hang is in News & Interests, nothing from SIB is there. I don't know what to do exactly this this OS rot
amnester Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 (edited) Checked! Up to Windows 10 Pro build 22H2_19045.4894 x64 (inclusive) StartIsBack++ v.2.9.20 works properly! No taskbar freezes, no slowdowns when opening the Start menu if the "SearchApp.exe" process is killed (blocked)! Starting with Windows 10 Pro build 22H2_19045.4957+ x64 and further, problems arise! When the "SearchApp.exe" process is blocked, a slowdown is observed when opening the Start menu, also when clicking on "Settings", "Microsoft Store" and other applications, "Start" / "Taskbar" freezes for one minute ... ( So we stay on Windows 10 Pro 22H2_19045.4894 . Edited November 23, 2024 by amnester

Alex654 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) Hello, I have a problem with version 2.9.19 (I know it's not the newest, yes) on Windows 1909 on my newly assembled PC. It is built on z790 socket with Intel i7 13700K CPU and DDR5 6000MHz RAM (maybe that's the reason of the bug, the memory is way too fast?), the old platform was LGA-2011v2 with Xeon E5-2690v2 and DDR3 RAM on 1866MHz. The GPU is the same (I moved it from the old PC), the video driver is the same version (AMD 23.12.1). The problem is my taskbar is completely transparent (but only when there are no visible windows on the desktop). See here: If the Stardock Curtains is not running in parallel, the background color seems to be displayed, but the wrong one, and not from the program settings. Any help would be really appreciated. UPDATE: problem solved, it was dynamic transparency accidentally enabled by me in Perks section. Edited December 26, 2024 by Alex654
