Why can't people who want me to read their news, websites, blogs, whatever... why can't they please CENTER their material?

Nothing is more annoying then having the text pushed all the way to left side of my screen.

(not talking about MSFN, this place is centered pretty good, there are sitll margins, and the text is closer to the center than to the edges of my screen.)

Then I visit other websites that have the menu on the left, therefore all the text is pushed to the right edge of the screen.

Then I go back to another tab and the text is centered on the screen and it jars my eyeballs. Therefore I will not frequent those pages anymore. This goes for alot of blogs and news websites.

I got to the point where I was adjusting the position of my monitor so the text is directly in front of my eyeballs so I'm not staring to the left or right side of my monitor for an hour.

Not any more! I will no longer read webpages that don't have their content centered!!! If you want me to read it, put it in the middle of the screen.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the perfect example of what I mean. And, ironic enough, it's a webpage called "Why You Should Never Center Align Paragraph Text."

They're webpage is still tacky, hideous, and hard to read. What with the huge, ugly menu on the right taking up nearly a 1/3 of my screen. Pages like this one below are terrible!!!

My biggest complaint is the laziness of web development. Multiple embedded scripts, multiple hosted CSS (and sometimes in conjuction with in-page styles) and things such as having DOCTYPE and HTML tags in includes. It is like the entire period of web development from the 1.0 days (learning to do it the right way) went right out the window. Now, most websites are gigantic piles of garbage. One big offender are those ready-made blogs like Wordpress, Blogspot and others. As time goes on, more and more of the web becomes unusable to me and I then have to decide whether or not I want to sacrifice my computer's safety over watching a video of some cats.

Here is an example:

I get sick of all the flowerery and dolled up sites. By that I mean the sites with heavy graphics, that take far to long to load even on respectable broadband. I also hate the sites that have gone to all pictures because they figure we can no longer read.

I use the web to gather information primarily, so I don't want to waste my time waiting for some dumb picture to load, because some web designer thought it would make the thing look prettier. I don't know that pure text based is a good answer either, but I think I would prefer it over most things shoved at me today. Have wondered if maybe it isn't time for a NEW INTERNET, one that serves the literate community.

Now, I will confess that I stream video from Netflix and Hulu, etc. But, it is done with a Roku box and not on a computer (Yea, I know, the Roku is a small computer.).

I have ripped more than one web master for destroying a perfectly good and functioning web site by going to all the pretty crap in the name of making it more appealing. Some, have maintained the old format, but hidden it away from the masses by allowing something classic.xxxxxx.con or like slashdot with their switch of no beta. Give me the written word, if I want to see the picture, I'll click on it otherwise don't tax my connection or hardware, thank you.

Well, that depends on the intensity of the cats. ;)

That GIF is slightly mesmerizing.

From what I can tell, it isn't the heavy graphics that is causing websites to be slower than what we'd expect. It is caused by loading contents from many different sources at once, as I show in my screenshot from CNN. See if you can find one of these dolled up websites that do NOT use embedded scripts from 10 or more other websites.

1. When non-conputer savy people, start to abuse the law, and then complains about how much smut is on the internet.

2. When the law itself abuses, the people, and allow home invasions, trough run-around laws. Basically the internet is like having sex with a feminist-nut.

3. When people bs the content of the internet, and opt to seperate the contents of a webpage. Once again these are non-computer savy people.

4. With graphic design, they take a simple web project and turn it into a flash, java script nightmare. I like the web, when it is simple looking, and basic. Not over done.

5. Again with graphic design, the money part of the web is full of crap, designed webpages.

6. When college trained idiots, starts whining about the sentence structure, and paragraph structure. That is the writing major inside of you talking. Just shuddup.

7. When people think that internet privacy have anything to do with facebook, and Youtube. The current status of the law makes using the internet ( computers linked together ), terrible.

8. Because people using their ipads, nowadays, everything is starting to have that late 1980's look. While I like the simplicity it is kinda annoying, using a regular web browser.

9. Their are more wireless users, then real internet users. Because of this, the law is more easily swung, for them. Wireless needs more security ( by that I mean invasion of privacy ), because being wireless is a quality of life.

10. The "Saints" who think that having the internet on their phones, makes them inside the future.

11. When you run into a non-computer savy person, on the net. Like a forum, who might respond with A. #$$#$#____**** and all kinds of nasty words, trying to get into a real fight with you, and takes the internet as real as people talking with you. B. The bastard who is ready to abuse the law against you, when they get enough incriminating evidence on you. You have dick-less cowards out their, who wants to take away your freedom of speech.

12. People who compares being bullied in grade school, to being yelled at, by a boss, or verbally abused by a parent. Then they take these anti-corporeal punishment laws, and try to make them into internet laws, because some young kid, or young adult decides to commit suicide, over words from a fat pugly witch.

13. The first rule of the internet is EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET IS FAKE. EVERY WORD, EVERY IMAGE, including but not limited to DLC ( meaning shareware you pay for ). Unless the source is .edu accredited and is respectful, to all people, it should not be considered a real source of information. This means every source including all helpful sources are never to be considered real sources of information. Their are too many people as mentioned previously, who are niave, and does not understand this simple rule. They go online and because the parent is too lazy to pull the plug, because a child usually looks like this, when you take away something from them.

This is what a child looks like, when you take away something, like the internet away from them. Her death scene, is how a kid usually is like, when they feel emotional, about something. I mean, people can be like this.

14. Posting youtube or whatever video links in forums

15. When r-tards on the internet whins about an opinion that somebody makes, and it goes down hill, until somebody bann cannons a person.

16. for all the money it help me wasted. Without, I would probably be +10,000 richer. It also devalues products.
