OK, I've done one up quickly without any blue color.  The active window still has a more significant drop shadow, and the border is a bit lighter than the inactive window.

This seems to work best at about 40% opacity (I hope Big Muscle will update his configurator tool).

This still has a dark "glow" for white title text.  I think that really fits with the look of it, but would anyone want a variant where the glow behind the title is light (for dark text)?

Win 10 Build 9879?  That's the only one it will work with.

-Noel

Huh. I'm on 9841 but I just downloaded and installed it today, and I don't see any updates available.

Is the UK language build behind US or something daft like that?

EDIT: Never mind, I was being stupid. Getting new build now.

Wow 9841 is first build then another build come out then 9879 come out almost a month ago

Okay that's that problem solved! Now I have a couple more  scrub questions that I couldn't find the answer to by searching.

How do I make the taskbar fully transparent, like you can with window borders? That's how I had it set up in 8.1, and I'd really like that back. Currently it looks like this: http://prntscr.com/5c8anf

More importantly, how do I make the start menu not look like crap? At the moment, it looks like this: http://prntscr.com/5c8br5 which is just... no. Is there a way of aeroing it up?

Thanks in advance!

You're kind of stuck with that look with Windows' own Start Menu I think.

Most of us use one of the replacement Start Menu tools, such as Classic Shell or StartIsBack or...  Those are better than Microsoft's feeble effort, and usually do have the ability to become translucent through some configuration options.

That's what you've got there, though there's a slight change in opacity between active and inactive windows.

If you want to tweak it, get an image editor and set it up precisely to your own liking.  Beware, though, it has the ability to eat up whole days of time.

Ah, I have StartIsBack but it tells me that it's not compatible with Windows 10 when I try to install it. Does it work fine in compatibility mode, then?

For the taskbar click on white square and put the first 2 slide controls to the left. Then click save changes

you can modify the atas file. use a software like gimp or photoshop use the magic wand or whatever it's called in english to select the areas of the same color (that blue, and the use the fill tool to fill the selection.

Is there any way to get the close, maximize, and minimize buttons to come up with red, blue, and green, instead of red, blue, and blue?

I think someone once figured out which resources go to which buttons for that for Win 8.  Time for you to get the old graphics editor fired up too, and join the ranks of people improving Windows 10.  :)
