I just check the videos description for the article linked and there is registry hack to use to solve this issue and it works great! Any idea how to remove persistent details pane even though the option on O-N-E uncheck. Apparently it's somehow Anniversary update build only affected and there is a video on how to fix this, but it involved editing some option on Group policy. Unfortunately I'm using Windows Home version which does not have access to Group Policy, and some registry hack enabling it which successfully does nothing at all. So yeah, is there any registry fix or other tools to help fix this problem. My setup: Windows 10 Build 1607 Anniversary Update X64 OldNewExplorer version 1.1.8.4 Edited January 10, 2018 by EonE

I made a fix for you. It hides, but will appear on mouseover. Anyway, I have two files one for aero, and another for 3rd party themes build 1709. Just replace in your respective themes folder, using aero as an example: C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\aero\shell\normalcolor. Then restart or logout to apply. I edited the extensions to show which was which so change back to .dll! ShellStyle.rar Edited January 20, 2018 by dhjohns

Did you rename the file from dll.aero to dll, and rename the original to dll.bak? It involves some work with permissions. I just replaced mine, and it IS working. Same OS as yours. I remember that I could kill CommandBar in Win7 using the taught technique of this link: https://www.askvg.com/how-to-make-folder-band-auto-hidden-in-windows-vista/ I opened your dll in ResourceHacker and saw that it is the same strategy, only that its replaces the dll in Windows/Resources and that of Seven replaces the dll in Windows/System32. I tried the latter, with reboot of the pc, but the result was null, with an unexpected side effect: ResourceHacker shows the changed dll without the lines of code to subtract the CommandBar, no matter how many times I edit, I appropriate and make the substitution of the dll. It's as if the system literally ignores anything edited in this System32 dll.
