Please update from Version 6.0.316.0 of NOD32 to the latest version 7.0.302.26 and look if this improves boot. I see a 10s delay after the file C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\x86\eplgOE.dll is loaded.

I'll do that and post here. Lastly, I still feel its my graphics driver since it has given me some errors in the past 2-3 weeks. Thanks for your help.

Updated Nod 32 to the latest version. I'm afraid the problem persists, although, I do feel it has shaved off a second or too. What to do now?

Yes Autologon is being used since you told me. I even told you it shaved off 2-3 seconds.

EDIT: Secondly the delay is not so much as it is when it is being traced.

I have no idea why there is a delay. Buy a valid 8.1 license (don't use a KMS crack ;) ) and reinstall Windows and go directly to 8.1 and see if this fixes it.

This might be a noobish question, but is it any better with a valid license?

Dear all,

I recently encountered a slow booting Win2012 R2 Server and cannot find the problem.

As you can see in the ProcMon Screenshot, the server hangs for approx 10 minutes after/while loading the Regkey HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup. As this server is a VM I can see 100% CPU load for one (1) core of the VM during these 10 minutes.

I tried also opening this Regkey with regedit, but it's constantly crashing when trying to open it.

Hopefully you can give me some hints.

Best,

Oliver
