This guy, Peter Hirschberg, has several programs at his site:

http://peterhirschberg.com/mysoftware.html

I recommend Aire Freshener:

Nature sounds player, CD player, MIDI windchimes, and Quote of the day. Discontinued charityware. You are welcome to download and use this program, but as it has been discontinued I unfortunately cannot provide support or answer questions about the program.

I guess we can consider "discontinued charityware" freeware. :)

Edit: I do not recommend allowing it to be the default CD player (I think you have to uncheck a box during install)

Thanks AA ... nice effort and some interesting software I wasn't aware of.

Thanks, duffy98.

I'm still searching for decent programs to add to my list.... call it my contribution to the Win9x community.

Maybe I'm just crazy.

I added a couple of Word Processing apps today (Angel Writer, Jarte & AbbyWord) and a couple other progs.

WinCVT combined with "Office converters" is pretty nifty, it allows you to convert between document types that you have filters installed for. You don't have to have Office installed, I just have the viewers and some converter packs.

http://wincvt.sourceforge.net/

It can be handy for MS Works documents and Word Perfect documents. I've found that you can use MS Word 5.5 for Dos, save your documents as RTF (Its DOC format isn't compatible with newer version, thanks MS) and you can convert them to modern DOC format, or if you have KernelEX and the Office 2007 converter pack installed, even DOCX.

Microsoft gives Word 5.5 away (No it's not freeware, but you don't have to pay for it). You can download it from this link, if you want:

"If anybody knows about free programs to print CD Music Labels/Covers please let me know!!!"

were you interested in any specific program or just any that are still free to download?. have got some on disc collections gathered over the years, but would have to go through them and check if they still work and if they are still active online. have not used any for many years now.

Try Memorex exPressit Label Design Studio http://www.memorex.com/en-us/Support/exPressit-Label-Design-Studio/ .

ok, no problems with that.

can't say i agree with with this statement though "bugs and errors. (they were freeware afterall)". might want to wear a hard hat or something for protection
