One more thing, I believe 2641690 replaces 2616676 (v2), both update only one file: crypt32.dll.

Thx!! :)

New file-checker extension for XP:

2011-11-12
- Added: KB2641690 (Security Advisory 2641690: Certificate Revocation)
- Removed: KB2616676-v2 (Security Advisory KB2616676: Certificate Revocation, replaced by KB2641690)

thx!

Did you check the 2641690-replaces-2616676 issue? or just took my word for it?

Mimo, there's an inconsistency in the file checker that really needs checking.

If I have KB2616310, it says that is not needed, because AD is not part of an standard xp install. So, I remove it and re-add 982000, but now it says that 982000 is obsolote, replaced by kb2616310...

So, which is it????? You can't have it both ways. Like I said in a previous post, we were including 982000 for a reason, so If 2616310 replaces it, then 2616310 is required. Else WU will ask for 982000. Get the problem?

We must know why 982000 was included in the firtst place. If it's required, then replacing it with 2616310 is ok. But if 982000 is not required, then both should be removed.

I hope you can sort this out.

First, the message "replaced by kb2616310" was an old text. Correctly it should be "AD is not part of a standard Windows XP", If forgotton to change the texts. Also for further/older updates (see below).

I have to change it.

KB2616310 (MS11-086) -> KB982000 (MS10-068) -> KB973039 (MS09-066) -> MS09-018

...all of them are regarding AD. And no one of them are needed if AD (ADAM) is not installed. The info, that update xxx is not needed is given now, but the reason could confuse... (see above).

KB2616676 replace KB2641690

Crypt32.dll (5.131.2600.6154 - 2011/09/28)

KB2544893 replace KB2544893-v2

Inetcomm.dll (6.0.2900.6157 - 2011/10/10)

KB982000 replace KB2616310

adamdsa.dll (1.1.3790.4905 - 2011/09/13)

Mimo, then why were we including 982000???? IF WU asks for it, then IT IS req'd. I'm gonna have to install xpsp3 in a VM and see if 973039, 982000 or 2616310 are required.

Ok, I installed XPSP3 on a VM and none of the HFs mentioned (973039, 982000, 2616310) are required by WU. I believe it's safe to remove 'em all. Or at least flag 'em as optional.
