Just trying out the latest version, looks good

I saw in the waik help that I should be able to add 5 items to the sidebar in my

autounattend.xml inwindows 7. Seven_UA only allows 3

also when I choose addons, document copy folder and brose to file I want to copy

this is the DocsUnRar.cmd that's created. The path seems wrong

Color 0A
rar.exe X -o- %SystemDrive%\Install\Docs1.rar "%USERPROFILE%\Users\jim\Documents\Quicken\"
DEL "%USERPROFILE%\Users\jim\Documents\Quicken\Docs.cmd"

shouldn't it be

Color 0A
rar.exe X -o- %SystemDrive%\Install\Docs1.rar "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Quicken\"
DEL "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Quicken\Docs.cmd"

I think it's this option and I use:(example)

erase /f /q "%USERPROFILE%\Favorites\Favs.cmd"

Yes jbm it should. Thanks for catching that. :thumbup

Since I started using 7za.exe included I'll switch to use that so no need to have winrar installed.

I'm trying to get Se7en_UA 6.5.7 working under Windows 7 Home Premium x86, but it's failing at the point of slipstreaming SP1. I've already copied the Windows 7 files on a previous run, so I'm just loading the program and clicking on "Inject SP1 with 7zip" and then selecting the option for "all languages" (just in case that's relevant)

I've watched the screen while 7zip works and seen quite a few "Everything is Ok" messages, finishing with the following:

Everything is Ok

After pressing a key, the command prompt closes. I start it again and see the title bar of the app for a few seconds and then a command prompt where it looks like an attempt to mount the wim image(s) fails...

I'm following instructions and letting you know about the error. :)

When I run Se7en_UA now, the checkbox that did have the caption "Inject SP1 with 7zip" is now titled "SP1 Start: 20:36 Done: 20:37" but remains unchecked.

Any ideas?

PS I do have a quick question - is the WAIK actually required or not? I know there's a reference to it on the original post;

  • Does not use the WAIK if installed or Windows directories unless you don't have waik or Win 7 then it only copies a few files.

But this didn't seem too clear to me... sorry.

EDIT: I forgotten to mention that I've been running the program with admin rights :)

You can remove the monted image with Se7en_UA and restart Se7en_UA to do all the process!

Set your SP1 inside the same partition: C:\ and not E:\

Thanks for the response myselfidem but I'm not sure what you mean by "remove the mounted image with Se7en_UA". I don't see an option that sounds like it would do something like this in the program window. I have removed the mount directory from the root of E: before running Se7en_UA, but this didn't make a difference.

Regarding the drive suggestion - I have the program installed to drive E: as I am trying to keep writing to my ssd (C:) to a minimum...

To restart the process launch Se7en_UA.

On the Se7en_UA window, you will see at the top (left) a check box where is writed: x86 Windows 7 6.17600.16385

Uncheck this box and clic OK to remove the files (located inside: C:\Se7en_UA\uaDVD)

Launch a new time Se7en_UA to do a fresh copy (copy the DVD) and start the process to copy.

When it's done select (check box) Inject SP1 with 7zip

When all the files have been extracted (Wait...need time), and the command prompt closed, launch Se7en_UA

And you can select OK to inject SP1

Wait to see the command prompt running!

Yes much better to keep off SSD and no need for waik since 7 has everything needed

you may be able to fix this by going to tools and install the takeownership and then right click the uadvd folder and Takeownership

EDIT: I see the dism error now. delete the log file C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log and start it up again. zip and attach log here

I taken ownership of the uaDVD directory (manually via the Security tab in properties) then deleted the log file and then went into Se7ev_UA and clicked on the option that is now labelled "SP1 Start: 20:36 Done: 20:37"... The image mounted this time and everything seems to be going well so far. I'll report back later once it completes.

Thanks for the help!

Actually thats better than doing with the reg file because the reg uses /grant *S-1-5-32-544 and it is better to use /grant Administrators in your language

I do that with program but doesn't work sometimes.

That all looks good but I see something

Image File : E:\applications\Se7en_UA\uaDVD\sources\install.wim

Normally I say to install to root of drive like E:\Se7en_UA but continue and see if everything works.

Without blank spaces in folder it might work. Dism gives us fits if path is bad

I discovered something just now and have corrected so new version be up soon

' Discovered while doing 64 bit from a 32 bit OS it was not getting Drivers, Packages, Features

Normally I say to install to root of drive like E:\Se7en_UA but continue and see if everything works.

Last night I decided that I would give Se7en_UA it's own drive to keep everything tidy, so I'm going to be doing this anyway :)

I've created a virtual hdd file under Computer Management and installed it to the root directory of my new W: drive. I had copied the previous Se7en_UA directory over the new install trying to avoid re-copying the windows disc and applying sp1 again, but I think I'm going to uninstall/delete that, re-install and start afresh when I next come to working on the install disc.
