Last Versions of Software for Windows 2000

Featured Replies

Windows MSCONFIG.EXE from XP3 does work with the extra tab, if XP3RES.DLL is copied too.

Nero 8 is last one to work for w2k. Nero 9 works on xp and newer windows.

For this reason, I won't buy Nero 9 since it down't work on w2k.

Safari 4 does not work with KDW's dll's nor will it install directly using FCWIN2K. It will not work with OldCigarette's API wrapper pack either.

Strange... SHGetFolderPathAndSubDirW is an emulated function in the wrapper. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Safari 3.2.2 works, but will crash on loading certain images.

FileZilla 3.0.11.1

From FileZilla forum:

Version 3.0.11.1, the last version for Windows 2000:

The current versions up to 3.2.4.1 seem to work on Windows 2000, but not thoroughly tested.

NOTE THESE VERSIONS ARE UNSUPPORTED!

OLDER VERSIONS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED BECAUSE OF KNOWN SECURITY VULNERABILITIES!!!

WORKING

TrueTransparency

For me it is very buggy.

it close it self after a few minutes.

TrueTransparency v1 is now available and still works superbly on Windows 2000.

@Tripo: The older version will occasionally crash and leave windows without window borders at all. The new version seems to be much better, it crashes less and restores old window borders on crash. I think the random closing of the program is caused by something (it seems to be on a pattern), but I can't quite figure out what.

Thanks I didnt know that there was an 1.0 version.

i will try it out right now

Edit:

I have done some test with TT and it does work great on my Windows 2000 computer.

it has not crashed once.

The other version did crash after a few minutes.

Crash with no message just the old borders or no border at all.

  • 2 weeks later...

DivX 6 was the last version to work on Windows 2000.

DivX 7 shows an error on install but can be remedied by using KDW to change OS to XP. But it doesn't work as the player needs an API from CRYPT32, which putting the KDW file in the same folder doesn't resolve for me.
