hi, i've download vista sp2 v113 and i want to slipstream it with vlite.

you know that if i already slipstream SP1, the option on vlite is on grey, which mean i can't slipstream SP anymore.

is it that i have to slipstream SP2 with hotfix option?

you can't slipstream the Sp2 with vLite 1.2

And you cannot install sp2 on a vilited install, you will have to install unmodded Vista

Im waiting for April 2009 when Vista images with SP2 integrated are released by MS.Besides i currently have installed most hotfixes that are in the SP2 anyway.

does a version Vlite is expected to fill the integrate sp2 with Vlite?

Speaking of which, is there someone who actively created a recent Vista Business x64 iso with SP1 and all the latest hotfixes integrated, and knows of a place to obtain such iso ? I'm a bit surprised they're not widely available these days. All I see on bittorrent sites are very old vlited images.

Is someone sharing his/her iso here in any way, or is that still a grey area? (MS isn't offering the DVD-images any longer..)

Yes. Get a MSDN subscription or you can get a student discount on Vista. They offer DVD images as well as licenses.

Hotfixes you can get from Microsoft in bulk with MBSA and SP1. BTW you can also get killer discouts on other MS software if you look around. Cheapest I've seen is Office 2007 Pro for $80.

The cheapest subscription I see is €748.35 excluding VAT/BTW. Don't make me laugh ;-)

I'm only interested in recent updated vlited/slipstreamed images because it seems pretty weird, time- and bandwidth-wasting to have to implement the updates for each and every start with vlite you make. Why not provide an up-to-date image, with usability in mind, so one including all languages and key-layouts etc.?

It would be much wiser (also for Microsoft and in the fight against spam and security-risks in general) to always offer OS-disks up to date, so *including* all the recent patches. It's done this way in the Linux-world for a reason. Just offer them publically, using bittorrent. We use bittorrent for OpenOffice and Linux distro's as well. It's the best way to offer large files like burnable DVD/CD boot-iso's. Nothing 'illegal' about it.

Makes ense. This is what update packs are for. Check RyanVM forums.

While on paper its a convenient idea, people would get even more confused with all these discs flying around. Also, if you have a Vista disk with SP1 and some updates, and SP2 comes around chances are it won't install due to all sorts of compatibility issues from the updates. Service Packs are a bunch of carefully selected and modified updates in a bundle. Installing them on top of the already installed updates is sure to break something.

Where do you get that from? Does MS give the ISO of SP2 integrated vista ?

No MS does not just GIVE them out.

You need to be a MSDN or TECHNET member or by one off of the shelves.
